Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

I have been wanting a new iron for some time. Joann’s online had one I wanted for $99 (full price $150). I went to the store (finally open!) and there were none on the shelf. Clerk helped me and it rang up at $150. Darn. So I asked if the coupons work on irons (in the teeny tiny print they are usually excluded) and she said “Well, let’s try it.” Worked. 60% off, so $60.

I am very happy. Much happier than I should be buying an iron.

2 pack of 32oz Rubbing Alc 70% for $ 3.92 ?

I got my MZ Wallace bag today. The color is better than it looked on-line (it’s a medium Or a little darker gray), and it looks more “professional” too.
It has a front pocket that’s big enough to hold my iPad Air. It will work great for me.

Mr. B bought a small Little Giant ladder at Costco for $100 (regularly $150). He is happy that he no longer needs to drag the one from the garage for indoor projects requiring a ladder.

For the fans of Longchamp bags, Nordstram Rack is having a flash sale.

Bummer. All the nylon Longchamps are sold out.

Cake360 - ordered the alcohol. Thanks! I’d been looking for it.
Amazon Fresh had Windex disinfectant spray.
I just walked by our local park and gauging by the very large unmasked groups, we’re in for a long time of extra caution. Must be nice to be young and invincible.

S took off the leaves from a table we got decades ago and now I have a desk! He put my two monitors and phone on it as well. An added bonus is there is a curtain and patio door behind it so if I have a video call, it’s me in front of the curtain!

Lots of good deals. Zazzle is offering 40% off gifts for dad, so got DH a cellphone case with a photo of granddaughter, and DS#1 a 15 oz mug with a cute message and photo of him with his dau. on it. Also ordered several personalized cards at about 55% off from greeting card universe.

Finally, DH had been wanting the discount deal that is ongoing for a digital subscription to the WSJ (I get all the COVID related stuff for free from the WSJ so was content). We’d long ago missed the free subscription though Amazon, but in addition to the $29/year deal, they are doing a $39/year premium digital subscription which includes a free gift subscription (so I went ahead and took that so I don’t have to log in as him if I want to read more than COVID stuff), the additional ability to give free digital access to another person a month at a time, and free access to the Wa Po ebooks AND we had an additional 20% off offer by paying for it with DH’s AmEx. I highly recommend checking the “offers” tab if you have an AmEx as you can get a nice amount of $ back on select purchases (I’ve gotten about $350 back over a few years).

Another deal, if anyone wants a nice Ralph Lauren men’s robe (DH declined), is at Bloomies for $70 https://www.bloomingdales.com/shop/product/polo-ralph-lauren-mens-kimono-cotton-velour-robe?ID=125883&cm_mmca1=20205031MULTILO&cm_mmca2=Other&cm_mmca3=Other&cm_mmca4=Other&cm_mmca5=Other&cm_ven=ExactTarget&cm_cat=BLM_060720_Promo_CP&cm_pla=Bloomingdale’s+Promotional+List&cm_ite=BLM5&cm_mmc=EML--Banner--CP_060720_1130-_-BLM5&uid=e85fc81c7970e822881454860bac0f7982e76834427b6212338e29f93ac8a0b6&mi_u=e85fc81c7970e822881454860bac0f7982e76834427b6212338e29f93ac8a0b6&j=24824&sfmc_sub=347903&l=33_HTML&u=3088388&mid=110007654&jb=225&smtrctid=347903

Happy shopping!

The father’s day zazzle deal might be gone (try this link and see if it works) but they have a 30% off deal now https://www.zazzle.com/fathers+day+gifts?tc=emc_06022020_FATHERSDAY-0xBuyersOpened15&emid=aVU7eW8qMkKgzvSEoKeoHQ&rf=238397209010837736&pm=DADGIFTS2020&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=m_06022020_FATHERSDAY-0xBuyersOpened15&utm_content=xsimg1_crossSell

Where did you get the WSJ deal? I couldn’t find it on Amex or Amazon or Google. Great deal!

@Calimom3 OOps— my bad -not WSJ— its the Wa Po. He and I were talking about both— and I typed the wrong thing. Sorry :frowning:

But the WaPo deal is a good one

I’ve been buying so little it’s been a long time since I’ve had a “good buy of the day”!!!

In May and June we have 2 anniversaries, 3 birthdays, mothers and father’s day. July and August add another birthday and anniversary.

DH wants/needs a new monitor (he has 2 on his desk). We just ordered one from Costco. Not sure how great a deal i was but he’s pleased with it. The LG was out of stock so he/we bought the other.

I wanted another pr of inexpensive capri leggings with pockets. Had some coupon/sale/reward combos to burn from Kohl’s. tried to order a pr with “pickup” at 2 different local stores (one after the other) after each cancelled the order saying it was out of stock. So got the online people to wave shipping and I got them delivered— final cost $5.23. And they couldn’t get one of the coupons to apply so are supposed to be crediting my account. Who knows. Not gonna worry about it for $5.

Follow up: Just checked the cr card- they credited $2.75 for the $5 coupon that they couldn’t get to work, so the capri leggings will cost $2.48.

Here’s the WaPo offer, and check AmEx “offers” for additional 20% off https://subscribe.washingtonpost.com/acq/#/offers/promo/o8

70% off Cole Haan shoes at their outlet. Should have got two pair.

@Calimom3- there are WSJ discount deals through ID.me if you qualify to register there (military, first responder, student, nurses, teachers, etc) and if you still have a kid in school, the WSJ has a student rate.

I bought 12 correlle salad plates and 6 correlle dinner plates. I was able to get the cashier to match their online Target prices instead of paying the higher Hawaii prices. The plates were 6 for $19.99 for both sizes. I also was able to get the cashier to match the online Dawn squirt refill price of $3.99 instead of the higher $4.69 or $4.79. I was pleasantly surprised they matched their online price.

Anyway, now we finally have enough salad plates (which we use as dinner plates) and some dinner plates that we can use if we have large things to put on them. H and I and D are very happy. S is not thrilled but is OK with it. (He thinks they are plain & ugly but we like that they’re light and fit well in dishwasher and microwave well.) The price was very nice and we can always buy more interesting accent plates or serving dishes.

With the price matching, I think I saved over $15 or so with those 4 items! I’m happy!
