Your Good Buy Of The Day (Part 1)

jym, that’s great! I also got a “thank you” call from son today. I placed an order through Alice dot com to get a few things that I wanted him to have on hand and I knew that he would not buy for himself. I added some fun snacks to the order!

Older son just called me about an hour ago too to thank me for the cookies! Best $6.95 I’ve spent in a long time. He said his roommate ate the oatmeal raisin one and said it was really good. The butter cream is good too. He asked me why I sent him cookies and I just said , Just because , just to let you know I love you and was thinking of you. Hopefully, younger son will get his cookies soon too!

My s said the package came with a note “here are your free cookies” or something like that. I told him they were “free”, with a $6.95 donation to s&h. I called it my $7 phonecall. Well worth it!!

Yankee candle just sent a coupon and to buy a large jar candle or tumbler and get one free (same size) in their stores. I can order this online, but then it costs another $5 in shipping charges. To get this offer all that I did was visited their website, but did not place an order.

This offer is good through 10/3.

12 pairs of Chaps socks for Dh from Kohls for $13. I had a $10 off coupon peelie from the newspaper and 30% off with my Kohls card…and the socks are buy one bundle and get one half off. He’s picky about socks and really likes these, so I’m happy!

DD just got her cookies Thursday (ordered last Friday, so must have not been processed until Monday.

They made her smile and that was the point, she has not yet tasted them, but is eying the $10 gift card they gave her

Went to a local outlet mall to get some travel supplies for DH. The Tumi store had a special sale in addition to their usual 25% off of outlet prices: buy one, get the second item half off. I walked out with two pieces of durable, very lightweigt, professional-looking luggage for $400. This might sound like a lot, but one of the suitcases I bought retails for $600 and never goes on sale. We needed new luggage really badly because our 10-year old suitcase that has seen China, Europe and Russia finally croaked!

Saved $80 by talking to the Delta agent rather than buying the same ticket on their website. Asked that the $20 fee for talking with her for her to book the ticket be waived since the lower fare wouldn’t work on their website but she said her supervisor wouldn’t authorize waiver. Still, saving $80 after the fee is still money we can use elsewhere. The ticket’s lowest price on the website was $661–by talking with her & giving her the codes I got at itasoftware.com, the final price of the ticket including her $20 fee was $581!

I’m just glad to have secured D’s ticket & having her return to LA at a reasonable time so she can get back to campus & settled. I have no confidence that fares will drop so that we can get a last minute bargain. Her dates really aren’t all THAT flexible.

Good job HImom! I find myself agonizing over airline purchases.

Cookies arrived on the Wednesday after the Friday order and were well received and declared delicious. Thank you sevmom for the easy opportunity!

Jetblue just announced a pop-up sale. Fares for $39 each way Long Beach to the Bay Area, $59 Long Beach to Portland, Oregon. Lots more deals.

[JetBlue | Pop-Up Sale](http://www.jetblue.com/deals/pop-up/?source=FB)

^^ Wow, great deals. Unfortunately, no hubs near me! :(

Thanks–am slightly irked that the fare was so high. My friend is flying his S home for Christmas from LA to HNL & back to LA for only $350, but that kiddo knew his schedule many weeks before my D. She says her profs just finally told them when their finals are & I already had to reschedule for S once years back & learned NOT to do so again–too expensive & irritating!

If any of you purchase or have purchased from Alice dot com, can you tell me how often you receive a promotion for an additional percentage off your order, and how much of a discount is usually offered? Thanks.

dd got her Cheryl cookies - doesn’t know when they arrived as I kept asking her is she got a package and she’d say no…it was in a hallway under old newspapers…sigh…she is thrilled and happy…I gave credit to CC moms, which she thinks is very funny…

That’s funny, memphismom. If anybody has kids that are into popcorn, the Popcorn Factory is having a similar promotion to the Cheryl’s Cookies. Free trio sampler of popcorn(cheese, jalapeno, caramel). Pay only the $5.99 shipping. It does say while supplies last so not sure how long that promo will last. If it’s like the Cheryl’s cookies, my guess would be it will probably have a card that says it is a free sampling. That doesn’t bother me but may bother some people.

darn! fall break starts this friday so i can’t do that - maybe it’ll still be good after she gets back - or I could just ordere and figure it’ll be safe under the newpapers.

the irony is her apt was entered ( door unlocked so can’t say broken into) and her laptop taken so she assumed her cooky package could also have been taken

I like the Popcorn Factory idea! Anyone have a bag of chips/popcorn around so you can describe how much 1.6 ounces might be??? (I’m not expecting alot, but don’t want it to be 10 kernels!!!)

On the site it says there are 6 servings (I think it was 1/2 cup each) per flavour. Click on the nutritional info

Memphis- you can choose delivery as far out as 10/21, if that works for you.

Thanks for pointing these out, I would like to do silly little things like this for the DD in med school, it’s pretty intense and the little surprises are great

Utz has barrels of individually wrapped Halloween pretzels for $5.99 plus shipping. Those look cute. Lots of other stuff on the website too. For any potaoto chip guys, you can order cases of chips to your specification and they will ship them.

Thanks, sevmom. I never even thought about looking at their site.
