originaloog, how does it work to purchase Rx glasses online? Pardon the ignorance. This sounds like it’s too good to miss.

Funny good deal at Costco. I got a Garmin GPS from Costco in August of 2009 after ours was stolen from our car. Insurance paid back about what we had paid - I had the receipt. I got a better one for less money. It died less then a year later earlier this summer so I returned it to Costco. Bought another one and it died a month or so ago (the audio worked intermittantly) and I returned it this afternoon they gave me the $233 that I had paid for it. I got the exact same model for $169 today.

I wondered about the RX Glasses too. I’d love to get a extra pair for my son who pretty much only wears them when he first gets up in the morning until he puts his contacts in…but I don’t know his “PD” (pupil distance?) - his script doesn’t list that.

Yea, Costco seems to be super-sizing a lot of their stuff, especially for men. I can’t find much that fits the males in our household. They say the do bring in perhaps two size 30/30 but for some reason it always sells out instantly & they always have tons of xxxxl on clearance. Go figure! They also no longer stock small for a lot of the men’s things & much of it runs big, so I can’t buy much for the men (the males in my house are still pretty trim).

The salesclerks also gripe about it, but not much seems to change.

Costco will even look up the last price you paid, if you used your Costco card, even if you no longer have the receipt. That has been helpful for us when we need to get warranty work done, either from the original manufacturer or thru AmEx after that expired. Costco prints out proof of purchase & you can send it in with the broken product.

Check the Zenni site. All you need is your eye exam prescription(OD/OS-Sph,Cyl & Axis, NV-add for progressive lens and Pupil-dist). The $15 I paid was for a 1.57 index single vision lens. All lenses come with scratch protection. My regular glasses w/ memory titanium frames and thin polycarb progressive lenses cost me $64.94. Still a great deal.

As for PD(pupil distance) the optometrist should have that measurement. If not someone can carefully do the measurement at home.

Agree with everyone about the big sizes at Costco. My youngest son can be a men’s small or medium, depending on the fit but sometimes they don’t even have any small listed on their signs. I always check the sign to see what the smallest size that is supposed to be there before starting the search. I got some cute pj’s for myself today.

I notice that even at lots of regular stores, they don’t even start men’s sizes until medium. S likes his shirts/t-shirts quite fitted so he wears a small - he won’t wear a medium cause it’s “too big”.

If only I can find teeth care, like I find for eye correction wear.

HIMom- we have the same problem with one of the males in our family. 28 waist and a small in all but the basic screen printed t shirts. D wanted to buy H some new more modern shirts and we were at one of the surf shops and we everything we liked the smallest they had was a medium.

YOu can probably order on-line from any of the many HI based shops. They DO carry the smaller sizes and even kids’ sizes. Our WalMart even carries some of the smaller sizes (tho they do carry a lot of plus sizes, which works for their clientele).

Yes, I always check the signs before hunting on the Costco clothing piles. No sense aimlessly sifting through piles for no good reason. One of the Costco cashiers remarked that one of their other locations seems to keep having surplus smaller sizes–their buyers need to compare notes and stop repeating the same mistakes endlessly!

S is a 27 or 28 waist & has a really tough time finding things that fit. He fits a boy’s 16, but really prefers the men’s clothing, as he is 23 years old and likes the tailored, sophistocated styling. It is a challenge, but his dad was a 28-29 when we met over two decades back, so he comes by it honestly. :)

For DS1, my fashion conscious kid, we ordered all his jeans online from American Eagle. The definitely had 28 (not sure about the 27). Get on their email list. Earlier this week they had 25% off everything, free shipping and it shipped the next day!

Somehow DS2 jumped from size 14 to waist size 30, so the cousins will be inheriting all the old AE jeans :-).

We have a Toro snow blower we were given as a gift. (Can’t beat that for a “good buy.”) Our local shop is an authorized repair center. They say to use only premium gas with no ethanol and not to leave any gas in the tank once winter has ended.

Two three-packs of 180s Adjustable Behind-the-Head Ear Warmers at $9.99 a pack. Most of them will go to D1 for next year, but I’ll keep a pair or two for me.

The deal sold out earlier today, then came back.

SlitheyTove: Maybe I’m being unusually dense this morning, but I tried buying those ear warmers that are still on special, but I get to the page where I put in my credit card info and there’s no place to go from there. No “buy now” button or anything, it just sits there.

3bm103, I went and checked. There’s a light blue “continue” button on the upper right hand corner. Talk about bad website design! The deal is still live.

Eddie Bauer is starting its “12 days of Christmas” with a daily deal - today is a nice quarter zip fleece for $ 19.50 - $30 off the original price.

I just bought the three-pack of 180’s-thanks for the tip!

Thanks for the maintenance tips. It sounds like my carelessness and laziness ruined a fine snowblower. :(

Thanks for the Eddie Bauer good buy of the day. I was bummed they were out of Men’s smalls, but bought one for every member of the family. Great deal!!

Out of men’s smalls already? Darn! I swear they only have like 3 smalls in stock!!!
