I’ve been looking for an L L Bean sale but no luck. Going to have to buy these boots full price soon if I want them for Christmas.

^^^ Are you on LL Bean’s email list?

They just had a 10% off email a few days ago, and a few weeks ago had a 20% off.

3bm, retailmenot website is still reporting LLBean 10% off code as “HOLIDAY” - good through December 14. The reliability is shown as 94% - worth a try!

(I ALWAYS check retailmenot before buying online - very often can get SOMETHING Off!)

That’s correct for Bean. 10% off. Free shipping. $10 gift card on purchase of at least $50.

Ends today at midnight.

I must live by the right Marshall’s. They keep getting a string of Dockers that last long enough for me to find my size. For a while, they were getting the high-end Never-Iron Khakis. I found three pair of those, flat-front, in my size and length in standard colors (shades of khaki and navy) for $14.99 ($50 at dockers.com and $39 at Kohl’s.)

Lately, they’ve gotten some Dockers Soft Khakis – these are super soft, wrinkly, comfy lyin’ around pants – a little dressier alternative to jeans. I got a pair in Salamander last week and found a pair in Antelope today. Funky colors, but why not for just knock around pants. $12.99.

3bm103, depending on what type of boot you’re looking for, you may want to check 6pm.com. They’ve been having rolling 50% off sales - I bought a pair of Emus yesterday for $45, I think today it’s Columbias. And Mr Rebates offers 10% cash back on 6pm purchases and I think I used an additional 5% off coupon from there as well!

Thanks for the Marshall’s tip…S needs some Dockers for tournaments before I have to kill him for wearing his suit pants and leaving them in a heap in his hockey bag (or worse, leaving them in a locker room 100 miles away!).

Do you notice the kids are reluctant to get in the car with you on weekends? JK
I actually like the green ones.

Thanks. Don’t know what I’d do without you guys. I got free shipping and 10% off. Not great, but better than nothing, and they are running out of sizes so had to do it today.

I recently bought a wild rice mix from Lundberg Family Farms at Walmart that was excellent. Organic, non-gmo and great taste. I don’t remember exactly how much I paid for the 1 lb package, but whatever it was, it was worth it.

The trick with Dockers is figuring out which of the gazillion cuts is the right fit for you. At least they number theirs and display the number prominently on the tags:

D4 Relaxed (normal waist, extra room in butt and thighs)
D3 Classic (normal waist, normal butt, normal thighs)
D2 Straight (lower waist, slimmer cut)
D1 Slim/Hipster (hip-hugger lo-cut, tapered legs)

I’ve only seen the D4 and D3 at Marshalls, but they do tend to get a couple in each inseam length, which is good because hemming them costs more than the pants! When they get them, they go fast. It’s one of those things where you just keep an eye out. For dress Dockers, look for the “Never-Iron” (most wrinkle free) or the “Signature Khaki” (2nd most wrinkle free)

Screw 'em. Like I’m going to worry about a car full of kids in their matching black North Face fleeces or gray hoodies.

The green ones are a gorgeous color. I actually would have been tempted to pay Kohl’s prices if I had seen them. I had a pair of khakis years ago in that color that I wore the heck out of. The mustard color pair I got today are a bit bold as khakis go, but so what? They are $3 less than another pair of Wrangler jeans at WalMart and these “Soft Khakis” are insanely comfortable. It’s not like they are hot pink… I’ll tame 'em down with an olive drab LL Bean fleece pullover. I can now retire a couple pair of knock around khakis from the 80s that are pleated and huge like MC Hammer pants – nice reserved colors (gray and black), but definitely dated cuts.

The clearance/returns rack at Kohl’s is also a good place to find bargains. They sell a ton of Dockers and always seem to have a few returns or last year’s colors marked way down.

Anybody ever use a site called ShoeIdea? They have tall Ugg boots for $109 which is cheaper than anywhere else I’ve seen including Ebay.

Thanks for the 411, dad…there’s a Marshall’s near our Kohl’s so I’ll have to drag S out with me soon. I try to avoid stores this time of year but at least he’s a quick shopper and relatively easy to fit as long as the pants aren’t cut too slim (skater thighs). He actually favors funky colors so maybe we’ll get lucky and save a few bucks!

3bm103, check for review of shoeidea…I haven’t bought from them but looks like something is not quite right:

I got a surprise savings yesterday. I picked up a game of Scrabble Flash at Target and thought I was paying $24.74 for it, but when I looked at my receipt, it was only $20! Of course I also bought something else that was $20 and now I see that I can get it from Amazon for $15! grumble.

I wish we had a Marshall’s or TJ Maxx close to me. My husband and I both wear Dockers pants and he would not care about the color if the price was right. My oldest son really likes Dickies pants - they never need ironing and wear really well. They used to carry them at Walmart but when I looked for them recently (I was there for the smart touch gloves) they no longer had them.

Eddie Bauer has denim 50% off today only - today’s “12 days of Christmas” deal! I need to run home and double check the size on my EB jeans!

I need some help from all of you wonderful shoppers out there. I have been trying to get D1 to give me some ideas for her for Christmas list and last night she sent a text that she would like a nice tote that she can take to auditions with her binder of music, water bottle, etc. D is a freshman in musical theatre in NYC so she would like a tote that looks professional and will last.

I would like something around the $100 - $150 range. Only 10 days until Christmas so I would like to find something now since I don’t have much for under the tree for her.

a great game for a very good price

showmom - a Longchamp tote? They’re pretty classic looking (heavy nylon body, leather straps) and pretty popular with the college set. I think there’s a thread somewhere on the parents’ cafe about them.

juba2jive - Thanks. I will look for the information on the Longchamp tote.

showmom858: I have three of these [Kailo Chic](http://www.ebags.com/product/kailo-chic/womens-pleated-laptop-tote-green-hexagon/118302?productid=1368884) totes that I use as a laptop tote for work (alternating to coordinate with wardrobe!)… I love them and have used them as a carry-on bag and also just as a “brief case”. They have a padded laptop compartment and lots of pockets. I like that they are not conservative, as I’m in a design profession.

Shoeidea is not on the Uggs site as an authorized seller. My niece just last week order Uggs from a store online only to find out later it was a scam. She used her debit card so she is out the money, but she learned a lesson. In hind sight, she realized the website was a bit off, but all she could see is a pair of Uggs for cheap.
