I made my order It should be here in around Aug 1, just a bit ahead of my birthday
Passed on the appealing Agave/green color due to 4 to 5 month wait (I think same for device and/or cover). Opted to do the deal for cover (cork) and power adapter. Didnāt pay extra for ad block.
I have an 11 year old hand-me-down Kindle that I do like on the beach or when I canāt easily get a printed copy. But to buy e-books I have to work through a clunky method with my husband, using his newer kindle able to do ordering. And he has no interest in library setup. So this is gonna be lots better.
i have a kindle and I get the free Prime books once a month, and then library books from libby (off my phone).
I have to admit that Iām not a good Kindle user. I canāt figure out all the pages and once I get into a book it is fine, but backing out of one when Iām done or trying to open another when Iām mid-book just has me swipping and banging and turning it on and offā¦ I just canāt seem to get to my library shelves. Of course Iām always doing this when Iām in bed or in a busy waiting room.
I also have a (much older) Nook, but I havenāt used it in a long time, and a Nook tablet which I mostly use to play Candy Crush. think it is too old to update any of the software. Even Candy Crush isnāt the latest version and is very slow.
I recently discovered free Prime books (maybe even from hints here on CC). Cool thing. So far Iāve gotten a few breezy books, read on the Kindle app on ipad. (Sometimes using just the ipad screen, sometimes on counter with keyboard setup.). My hope is that once I start using a real kindle, reading progress will synch like happens now for ipad/iphone.
One minor concern: I read that there is a 6 device max on Amazon/kindle account. I will soon have 4 (new kindle, ancient kindle, ipad, iphone - rarely used but could be handy once I transition more to ereader). Hubby has 2 (kindle iphone). Hoping he has no desire for an extra device down the road.
Did anybody get other cool tools on Prime Days? Hoping it will happen again before Christmas .
I think this can count as a good buy - I used the same hairstylist for maybe 20 years. I paid $85/cut plus tip for several years, every 6 weeks or so. This week I tried a new stylist. Hair looks fine and it was only $53. Plus this place is much closer to where I live.
Got cherries 2lb@$6, nectarines, 4lb@$6, broccoli 4lb@$3, baby carrots 4lb@$4, all from Costco. Of course I splurged on a lot to bring my total bill up (dang supplementsātheyāre expensive but we can tell the difference between when we take them vs skipping them).
Also bought a Costco twin pack of assorted meats for snacking @$15 and wheel of brie for $7. My kids have dibs on one pack plus 1/2 the brie and the rest Iām using to build a nice grazing tray for my board, as we have a meeting tonight over the dinner hour. I like feeding people who help me.
Is this a new thing? I have 19 devices registered to my Amazon account that have the Kindle app on them. Most of them are old phones and ipads (I have four kids and they are all on my Amazon acct). But I know that we use more than six devices at any given time. I would delete all of our old devices but I have no idea which ones are the old ones and which ones are current!
When Kohls had their 50% off clearance deal at the beginning of July, I went there to use up some credit that was about to expire. My best deal was a pair of Gloria Vanderbilt jeans. The bright springy green color is not something Iād normally get, but for $2.40 it seemed worth a try. They are too long, and Iām contemplating a method for cut-to-length method I saw online. After I wear them once cuffed under.
@Colorado_mom if they are denim you can just cut to the length you like and let the edges fray. I have done this with jeans that were too long and it worked well.
There are youtubes that instruct how to shorten jeans while preserving the original hem. I like the one by Tailor it Yourself. I tried it. It was easy and the jeans looked like they hadnāt been altered. I recommend it.
Oh I need my morning coffee! I read your post as āI am not a sewerā like it was the street drainage system sewer! then I realized you mean sewer like a seamstress!
Going back to the topic of this thread (with some overlap with Gardening discussions), Iāve been enjoying my $5 pink pot of petunias bought on clearance. Itās shown here on the corner of my stoop.
