your high school

what percent of kids at your school get a 4.0 unweighted? 3.5 to 4.0 unweighted?

1.0%. Not sure about the second.

0.
No one has a 4.0, not even the valedictorian.
Just not possible to get 100 in all classes, for us wimps.

second part?
Dunno.

you have to have a 100 to get a 4.0 at your school?? most schools its just around a 95ish. we dont report gpa though so yeah.

liliachencko - you have to have 100 in your classes to get a 4.0? gee - at our school you just hafta have over 90.

well, i'll share:

at our school, in last yuears graduating class of around 300, only 4 had an UW 4.0, but 33% of the class had a 3.5 or above.

Guestimates...
4.0 - 10 people --> 3%
3.5+ - 60 people --> 20%

um no one

[10charrr]

Across all grades (1650 students)
4.0: 50-70
3.5-3.9: 130-150
90 and higher is an A

Mine is the same as Liliachencko.

4.0 = 5? --> 1%
3.5+ = 45 --> 12%

Out of a graduating class of appx. 380.

we probably have 4-5 kids.

I don't understand these 4 and 5 point o scales. We just talk about our grades as like a 95 or a 93 etc. That's all it says on our report cards.

Nobody in my old school even got a 3.0...

Most of NYS schools, I think all, calculate on a 100 point scale. If that is the case, just estimate a converstion chart.

4.0 = 95-100

3.9 = 94
3.8 = 93
3.7 = 92
3.6 = 91
3.5 = 90

3.4 = 89
3.3 = 88
3.2 = 87
3.1 = 86
3.0 = 85

2.9 = 84
2.8 = 83
2.7 = 82
2.6 = 81
2.5 = 80

2.4 = 79
2.3 = 78
2.2 = 77
2.1 = 76
2.0 = 75

1.9 = 74
1.8 = 73
1.7 = 72
1.6 = 71
1.5 = 70

1.4 = 69
1.3 = 68
1.2 = 67
1.1 = 66
1.0 = 65

This conversion chart is posted in the Guidance Suite in my school. It's fairly easy to memorize.

Thats so unfair at my school a 90 is worth 3.0

atmy school 4.0 is only from 96 to 100....I dont really know how many kids have 4.0 though

At my school 90-100 equates to a 4, 80-89 to a 3, 70-79 to a 2, and so on.

Therefore, if you have four As and two Bs-

4+4+4+4+3+3=22 22/6=3.67 GPA

Basically you can have an average on a 100 pt scale of 85-ish and still have a 3.6-3.7. Also, no GPAs on the 4 point scale are weighted.

I believe we have 9 people out of 20 or so in the senior class with a 3.5 or better. Not sure, however.

my new school has about 2000 students, 500 seniors:

4.0: 5 or 6 students (top 1%)
3.5+: 50 students (top 10%)

my old school has about 5000 students, 1000 seniors

4.0: 30 or 40 students (top 3%)
3.5+: 300 students (top 30%)

4.0= I'm guessing no more than 10 students. Could be more, but I'm not sure...
3.5+= Well, considering that I have a 3.7 unweighted and I rank #34 of 250ish students, I'd say that maybe 50 or so have a 3.5 or higher.
