your high schools grading scale

i go to school in Charlotte, NC and our scale goes like this
93-100=A
85-92=B
77-84=C
70-77=D
69 and lower= F

South Florida.

90-100: A
80-89: B
70-79: C
60-69: D
59 and under: F

Ours depends on the class. The whole school does not have an uniform criteria for grading...so I've had a 59% D giving teacher once, and a 94% A- giving teacher once.

my school has inflation, and it goes by the 4.0 system

3.6 - 4.00 = A
3.5 - B+
2.6 - 3.4 = B
2.5 = C+

i don't know the range below that, but you see the inflation right there

90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
60-69 D
Under 60 F

However, certain teachers (like my APUSH teacher) won't give you under a C if it's a "hard" class no matter how bad your tests, quizzes, etc. are.

97-100 A+
93-96 A
90-92 A-
87-89 B+
83-86 B
80-82 B-
77-79 C+
73-76 C
70-72 C-
65-69 D
0-64 F

94-100 A 4.0
92-93 A- 3.5 <--- freaking harsh
90-91 B+ 3.25
85-89 B 3.0
83-84 B- 2.5
82-81 C+ 2.25
80-76 C 2.0
74-75 C- 1.5
73-72 D+ 1.25
67-71 D 1.0
65-66 D-
0-64 F

For all you people who get 90's as A's, I am jealous.

Hehe, jealous of them? Wait until you see the BC grade system:
86-100 - A 4.0
74-85 - B 3.0
67-72 - C+ 2.5
60-66 - C 2.0
50-59 - C-
0-50 - I/F (incomplete)

97-100 A+
93-96 A
90-92 A-
87-89 B+
83-86 B
80-82 B-
77-79 C+
73-76 C
70-72 C-
65-69 D
0-64 F

Normal here, although it's not always uniform between all teachers. Some tweak it.

^Now I'm jealous.

Mine is like tubachick's.

And I am very, very jealous.

100-90= A
89-80= B
79-70= C
69-60= D
59-0= F

Holy crap your guys are amazing!

96-100 A
92-95 A-
89-92 B+

and I forget the rest but ya we have no A+'s...

Haha your grade systems are so harsh
in Ontario

80-100 A
70-79 B
60-69 C
50-59 D
0-49 F

65-100 Passing
55-64 Failing

We don't have A's, B's, C's, etc. We don't have 4.0, 3.0, etc. We just have number grades out of 100, and 65 is the minimum to pass.

i am thinking that colleges get our grading scale because it would not be fair if i have a 92 and get a B in my school. Also no -'s and +'s so
A=4
B=3
C=2
D=1
F=0

^
Yep, colleges will receive your school's profile which includes a grading scale. Colleges tend to give some slack for kids that go to schools with harsh grading scales. I'm sure it works the other way too (sorry, Canadians).

Yes, but Canadian schools don't "weigh" or bellcurve or whatever their grades, so there is maybe 1 person in each grade that gets 95+ in a given year. I'm just wondering, does your report card say the number or the grade?

Mine says both.

Mine just says the number... but the grades are sort of understood.

The grades can vary with each class.
They go from 93% for an A (A-) in AP english to 85% for an A/A- in AP chemistry...

I think that, in general, the grades are on 8 point margins:
A-92
B-84
and so on...
