May I ask, what's an eating club?

haha, kat...remember our long-ago plan of starting our own CC eating club? wait..no, it was a residential college, wasn't it? Well...we could graduate from a rescol into an eating club :)

I got Ivy.

quad - good mix from sign in and openness
colonial - good mix from sign in every year
terrace - liberal artsy crowd, good variety, a bit alternative
cloister - lots of swimmers and crew people
charter - engineering has a fair representation, but pretty varied because people sign in for its good food
ivy - elite rich crowd
TI - jock and animal house guys (TI runs out of money every year from its massive spending on beer so don't expect good food)
Cottage - southern, conservative, white crowd
Tower - don't know
Cap - don't know
Campus - mixed crowd

yay! thanks mzhang!

Those are good descriptions, i think i like Tower. Ivy seems like they too in to themselves.

I got Tower. Anyone who really likes it (coughcoughphilcoughcough) wanna give a quick description?

good idea to ask philntex :)

From what I've heard, it's the most politically-minded of the clubs and generally has more "literary" people.

The sign in eating clubs tend to change in composition rapidly. A lot of people sign in or bicker as a group, although when people bicker as a group, it is possible for them to be separated. Signing in to a club does not guarantee admittance, all of the clubs have a limited number of spots. If too many people want to join a sign in club, it is decided based on a lottery. You can sign in as a group, and everyone in the group will end up in the same eating club. I originally tried to sign in to Charter, but it was popular that year, and I ended up in Quad, where I was very happy. When I was in Quad three years ago, it was very unpopular. The parties were well attended, but very few people joined. It has become more popular lately. There were a lot of engineers, and also a lot of jocks from minor sports, especially fencing.

Since I'm going to be rowing, Cloister all the way. I was there during my visit and it was awesome.

hm..i disagree/can add to with some of mzhang's descriptions...but these are just opinions.

quad - i'd say is pretty lame for partying as an upperclassmen because all the frosh go there
TI- sorority chicks go there too
Cottage - i'd add that football players usually go to cottage.
Tower - good mix, fun place. really laid back.
Cap - probably more elitist than ivy.
ivy-difficult to get in, somewhat elitist but really fun.
Campus - i definitely dont think it's a mixed crowd. overwhelmingly african american.

Cottage- all the Baseball players are here too.
Quad- I agree, seems like this is the home for literary people but as an upperclassman, I'm not quite sure how fun itll be. It is however, (along with Colonial), a freshman's best option.

what about charter?

Charter has bands and parties on Fridays and tends to have a good share of engineers at the moment. It is also said to have good food, though I've never eaten there.

terrace haha-sounds like me...

i got tower (and pton for the other quiz :D). Kebree, you say tower is very political. is it lib or conservative? cap and ivy sound a bit too elitist/rich crowd to me

I got Terrace, but want to be in Tower

They're all pretty chill. Just kind of equate them with a fraternity. DJs, Live bands, rediculous amounts of alcohol, gorgeous buildings. It's pretty sweet.

hmm I'll worry about those once I'm in. I probably wont have to wrroy about it because my chances of getting in are ridiculously slim.
