<p>Would appreciate anyone's honest opinion on my chances to get into University of Texas, anything 100% honest will help. thank you</p>

[ *] Course load (# of AP/IB/H, special courses, etc.): 5 AP's and ALOT of IB's.

[ *] Other stats: Senior Courseload consists of 1 AP class and the rest IB. focusing on calculus and physics
[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc): Founding member at my school for Math Honor Society, Science Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. also volunteeer at Heartland Healthcare of Kendall and assist the nurses and help out in activities.
[ *] Essays: Good essay. it's about my thoughts on diversity and how important it is. (I'm part colombian, peruvian, arabic, and i was born in Chicago)

<p>You have a strong shot. Your class rank is outstanding, the fact that you are Latino is going to help you (especially because you aren't Mexican, so you add diversity to the Latino community at UT--yeah for Colombians like us). Your ECs look good, and I've heard that diversity essays work well.</p>

<p>The SAT is only slightly lower than the median for accepted OOS students (I think like 1310). That means that 50% of accepted OOS students were below that.</p>

<p>I'd say you are in. AA doesn't ostenably help because it is officially against the law for them to aid you. However, the diversity essay would be a good way for them to give you points there legally. If you attend a HS with low socioeconomic numbers, or are from a low socioeconomic background yourself, it will certainly help your case.</p>

<p>Yes, I would defineitely say that you have a very strong shot. Your rank is incredibly strong and the amount of IB classes you have taken is def. in your favor. Also, your extracurriculars are solid and the fact that you are Hispanic will def. up your chances. GOOD LUCK!</p>
