My son accepted:
U.of.K full ride (patterson), Emory (waiting on scholarship pkg), U.of Wisconsin-Madison (no merit or scholarship $), Evansville (Indiana - presidential scholarship -about $20,000)
Waiting on Cornell, Dartmouth, Yale and U NC - CHAPEL Hill.
Question on U.ofK.he has a great opportunity and is very fortunate. We know no one who attends or has attended the university other than helpful information on C.C. word is classes are not challenging. My son expects to go on to grad school in biological type science or health field. No undergrad loans is huge bonus but concerned he won’t find undergraduate school challenging enough. He is thriving in rigorous prep school environment. …any thoughts on taking full ride at "easier college vs. Loans to attend harder school?
Oh lord I forgot to add Rice to the accepted list. I’m not copying the whole thing over to another post

Looking at this list now, I wish I hadn’t gotten lazy and just applied to more schools! Hindsight is 20/20 though.
I plan on enrolling at Penn State!
Accepted: New York University (CAS Econ), Northeastern University, Stony Brook University, Binghamton University, Villanova University, Skidmore College

Brown University (Probably rejection)
University of Pennsylvania (Wharton) (Probably rejection)
Columbia University (Probably rejection)
Princeton University (Probably rejection)
Dartmouth University (Probably rejection)
Georgetown University (McDonough) (Probably rejection)
The Mich & BC waitlists are likely indicative that I’m not gonna get better than NYU and Northeastern
@123Monkey, my son is in the same situation. The Patterson is awfully enticing: the NMF package at Central Florida is even better. He’s been accepted at Northwestern and Amherst in the last couple of days, though. Northwestern is the obvious choice if the FA package is good enough. Amherst was incredibly generous, so hopefully NW will be, as well.
@greeninohio glad to see we’re in similar situation. …do you or your son know anyone from/at U.ofK.? That is a prime choice unless an unlikely ivy comes through. My son was/is excited about Emory but it’s touchy choice as his father is opposed to a white kid from small town having street smarts enough to be safe in Atlanta…especially with the rioting and protests (which my husband feels will only get worse in near future)…husband wouldn’t even support my son’s applying to Washington University in St. LOUIS because of the Ferguson troubles…
@uclabound1 I’m interested in everyone’s stats here. But I’m kind of extra interested in yours. My son has been rejected at NW and Duke with 2300 SAT, 35 ACT, 4.0 GPA and tons of EC. And his teachers all love him so I assume is recs were terrific. There are theories out there about this, but are you willing to share stats?
@community2605 I was also rejected from Duke, yet I’ve been accepted to Cornell, Johns Hopkins, and Vanderbilt. My stats were a 2160 SAT, 33 ACT, and 3.8 GPA with pretty decent ECs. You can see my profile on the results thread.
I don’t think I’m as competitive as your son, so I’m surprised he was rejected at those schools.
I’ll add mine
ACCEPTED: Lewis and Clark, Amherst, Davidson, Columbia (likely letter)
REJECTED: MIT
Loose stats: 2210 SAT, 34 ACT, strong ECs and lots of community service

Crazy how random these decisions seem sometimes!
Accepted: Dartmouth (likely), Bowdoin (Faculty Scholar), UMich (Ross still pending), and UConn (half-tuition merit)

All the schools I have left are ivies. Mostly looking forward to Princeton and Yale, but waiting on Cornell, Wharton, and Columbia.
