Okay, though most of us are still biting our nails about the acceptance letters; why not think about something else and take our minds off the stress for a while? I thought before, that this thread might sound too dumb, but what's the problem in experimenting.

WHAT KIND OF ROOM MATE DO YOU EXPECT AT A COLLEGE U WILL BE ACCEPTED TO ONE DAY?

The person you are going to share your room with certainly can have an impact on your performance. So why not write about your expectations??
:)

I expect an annoying twit who plays bad music all day long, never sleeps, is incredibly messy, and possibly smells bad.
This way I at least won't be disappointed.

I want like 4+ roommates. I'd prefer if they didnt listen to rap (really loud) in the room because that kindof music really ****es me off. I prefer grunge punk/rock.
I would probably also like my roommates to be noctornal (llike me) so we could go out at night and party and stuff.
I do not want a cranky btch who always complains about everything or someone who goes on the computer 24/7 (I really hate the typing noise) and studies all all allallla llla alllall weekend and need thier peace& quiet.
Yes. Im quite picky.

sounds like me. hahah. except i would think i play GOOD music.

what i probably will get: a geek, someone who has never really gone to a real high school party and does homework on friday nights, wears glasses, very typical hardworking nice girl.

a roomate that would be a great match for me: someone who loves to girl talk and gossip and stay up late with me, play music out loud, dance, help me study (and i help her), go socialize and party together. AND LIKES TO LAUGH. and be loud.

OK I stayed with this kid in my school on and off quite a few times, sometimes for 2 months at a stretch and we are very different people. I used to wake her up at the crack of dawn, refused to allow her to study in peace and put on Metallica when she was trying to do Math. We also dragged each other to parties which the other person did not necessarily want to go to and inflicted each others TV and musical tastes on each other. Needless to say, they rarely matched. Atleast we were both slobs, so neatness was never an issue.
The point of this long rigmarole is, despite all the differences, there were no tensions at all. In fact , we became even better friends than we already were. And she's bailed me out of trouble more times than I can remember. Don't be too quick to judge your roommates just because you think they fit into certain stereotypes that you don't like. They can spring quite a few surprises :)
But I just hope I get a sloppy roommate. I hate cleaning up.

lol, I feel now that there are huge number of slobs like me around the world. So,the most common trait expected from ur future roomie is, 'Dirtiness?'

I'm not dirty precisely. Just messy. Very messy.

Shikhar why are you so antisocial? I mean say, hypothetically, that you and your friends astrix and shix were admitted in the same school as you (and by gasp even greater chance), they happened to be assigned as your room mates wouldn't you like it ;)?
Anyway, I'd rather be in a triple or a quad. The more the merrier!

You people WANT roommates? And many of them? God, why???
I mean, I like socializing as much as the next girl, but I need a retreat from the constant exhaustion of being around people. And besides, I'm a control freak, so even though I'm not particularly tidy I do everything a certain way and get twitchy if people mess with that.
Besides, if you have roommates you can't sleep naked.

Wow, kitkattail, a lot of information given there...
I want indepedence and all, but being away from friends and family, I don't think I can suddenly start living by myself.
