Your School's Grading Scale

I was wondering what most school's grading scales actually were. Is my school's harsh or easy? I have a 4.0 UW GPA and I was wondering if I had to work any harder... point wise.

My School

94-100 A
84-93 B
74-83 C
68-73 D
67-0 F

It sometimes varies from class to class, but basically:

90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
60-69 D
<60 F

"+" and "-" where appropriate.

That would be so much easier! Sometimes I have a 93 at progress reports and it kills me to get that A, I don't think I would have to work hard at all to get a 4.0 on that scale.

But then again, my school sucks, so why does it matter.

Consider yourself lucky that you go to a higher end high school. Some us get stuck with crappy, under-performing schools full of under-achievers that bring down the school's standards in the eyes of colleges.

Blah

Really tacky thing to say. After all, you don't know his school, so you don't know how difficult it is to get that 90 grade. So to declare that it would be easier is an impossible assumption.

I actually do go to a horrible school...I was talking about my school not another school about the lower grading scale.

80-100 A
70-79 B
60-69 C
50-59 D
Below 50 Fail

standards seem kinda lax, but our school is very competitive and our teachers are very strict with their standards so very few students break the 90% range.

90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
65-69 D
below 65 F

For the weighted system its +6 for APs, +4 for honors, and +4 for college prep classes

Ours is a straight 60 - 100 % game in Stuyvesant High School. I feel this kind of system escalates competition much more than the A,B,C,D grading system because you will know more precisely if you have a "high A" (99) or a "low A" (94). I wish we had letter grades...

90-100 A
80-89 B
70-79 C
65-69 D
below 64 F

Weighted System
Honors and AP Classes given 10% of your final grade added to the final grade.
73 + 10% = 80.3
82 + 10% = 90.2
90 + 10% = 99
95 + 10% =104.5

Only thing i know because it's the only grading that's applied to me:
86-100 A
85 and under B/C+/C/C-
50 and under F

My school's almost the same as B407's:

80-100 A
70-79 B
60-69 C
50-59 D
40-49 E
Below 40 Fail

Very few people in my school get +90% averages too. There's a genius in my class (not exaggerating - she does 3 subjects out of the school timetable, 1 by herself, and we go to a top school nationally), and she got 93% last year...our teachers have REALLY high standards!!! :)
