Does anyone know how it works at Columbia?

@ CU:
A+ 4.33
A 4.0
A- 3.66
B+ 3.33

is that for intro + advanced classes alike?

95-100: A+ (4.5)
90-94: A (4.0)
85-89: B+ (3.5)
.
.
.
.
and add 1 point to GPA for every Honors/AP class...for example, 3.5 in AP class becomes 4.5 when it's weighted..

I go to Seoul International School..

our marking system is really messed up...well disadvantageous to me..

94-100 A
84-93 B
74-83 C
64-74 D
<64 F

No weighting system for APs! >< and a 93 and a 84 count as the same B.
So in theory, a 94 from PE is better than a 93 from AP Literature. =P

I go to a public high school in CT, and I thought our grading system was pretty standard until seeing this thread:

Regular (A-level) classes:
A+ (97-100)= 4.33 A (93-96)= 4.0 A- (90-92)= 3.67 B+ (87-89)= 3.33 etc. (Pretty similar to Columbia's according to a previous post.)

Each grade increment decreases by .33 in the gpa scale. We also have B-level and C-level classes, where the gpas for each grade decrease by .33 and .67 respectively from the A-level scores. (i.e. an A+ in a B-level class gets a weighted score of 4.0 and an A+ in a C-level class gets a score of 3.67)

Similarly, for honors classes, each gpa score increases by .33 from the A-level class, and for AP classes, each gpa score increases by .67.

So:
Honors Classes:
A+ = 4.67 A = 4.33 A- = 4.0 B+ = 3.67 etc.

AP Classes:
A+ = 5.0 A = 4.67 A- = 4.33 B+ = 4.0 etc.

For weighted gpas, the above scale is used and only considers academic courses, for unweighted gpas, all courses are considered, and they are all counted as A-level. Colleges receive both.
