idk what to put for the "your space" on my vassar app! what did other people do? is it ike, anothe essay, or what? i know it's optional, but i love vassar so much, and i want to do everything i can to demonstrate how important it is to me.

I'm stuck on what to do for mine, too. :(

I just put down another essay that I had written for a different school's supplement

yeah i put in a poem i liked that i wrote for another college...just put whatever you think might make you stand out i guess...

is it really necessary... i mean it is optional... does it really help you.. can it hurt you.. you can get in with out one right...

im not trying to demine the institution, but i would like to know
i chose not to do one and my recen luck with early action has made me start to second guess a lot of things

can you send a picture and write something about it?

i just used different college's supp essay and changed a little to match Vassar characters

I'm sending in a CD of my band and a few newspaper clippings :)

I printed a poem I posted on this literary review site and the reviews I got for it (I fit it all on one page). I dunno, I guess some people may think it sounds stupid, but I thought it was a good idea...

I know someone who gfot accepted in ED, and he put in a bunch of pictures, a bunch of poems, an essay and a bunch of random facts about himself, "Things I want Vassar to know" "Things I don't want Vassar to know". It was good. I'm planning to put in some poems, pictures, drawings, newspaper articles and jazz up the whole thing, decorate it or something.

I'm VC class of 2010, and for my "your space" I sent a video that my friends and I had made for our AP US history final- The Life and Legacy of Andrew Jackson.

My d didn't put anything in; is that a problem?

Hope not, Chedva. My s informed me he wasn't a 'my space' kind of guy (as if I didn't know).

I attended an info session at Vassar a few weeks ago with my daughter, and the admissions rep said that 50 percent of the kids submit something for Your Space and 50 percent don't. I can't remember if she was talking about 50 percent of the applicants or 50 percent of the kids who were admitted, but either way it shows you that Your Space really is optional.
