Is it a bad idea to try to explain my not so great GPA (medicial conditions during junior year) on my Your Space part of the application? I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses, and I want to make my Your Space awesome because I'm an art student.

Also, what kind of stuff is permitted? It says "on the back of this page" or send it in with your application. So, does it have to be the size of a regular piece of paper? What kind of medium can I send it? I was thinking of doing some drawings/photos relating to my admissions essay on my trip to China. Can I use like a small piece of cardboard?

I would have your guidance counselor supply the explanation and use My Space as a place to shine and show something wonderful the application does not reveal.

Yes, (z), writing samples would definitely be appropriate. The idea of the Your Space is that you can use it for whatever you'd like so as to show off a part of yourself that may not have been expressed through the rest of the application, or that you'd like to further highlight. So basically, anything (or nothing... it's optional, after all) goes.

do you think sending in a video is a good idea?
would they actually watch it?

i want to send in a 5 minute video against a favourite song displaying portions from my senior year and leading into my acceptance to vassar. i want the end scene to be a clip that i will have filmed when i am visiting vassar, so it will look as though i am attending.

Wrong... I sent in a video of me teaching choreography from my senior dance piece. YourSpace really is "anything goes." Unless it's changed from a year ago.

ok, i thought it was alright to send in a video. i just wanted to make sure though. i just dont want to spend all of the time i will making it and then not have anyone watch it

Hello! Another question about the "Your Space" portion... I don't really know exactly how the college application process works yet. I am going to study abroad in Osaka, Japan during the first few months of my senior year. I get back before my school begins midterms. Would information like this go into the Your Space?
I am hoping to visit all my potential colleges (I'm at least finishing college research) during the summer.
I am definitely applying to Vassar!

Now that I think about it, does anyone know what I would do about the Midyear report? Get one from the school in Japan, I suppose?
