What do you think of the company? Anyone own a pair of Bose headphones?

I' ve got a pair. They're definitely good, but if money is an issue I'd say go with another brand.

they're very good. Especially the surround sound system. Its only annnoying when you have to put up with all the wires. Theres like over thrity wires.

I have the 2.1 set of Speakers. Very very good. They are expensive, but their motto seems good enough: "Better sound through research."

awesome stuff but very pricey...

Hey can you go on head fi.org
and search bose. I think it'll change your view a bit.

I bought a pair of Bose triport headphones a while back, and while I was pleased with the sound quality, they broke really fast and are not durable. They also are not very portable and look pretty funny while wearing them.

Heard good things about their earphones. You might want to check out Shure too.

Their speakers, on the other hand, leave a lot to be desired. They charge a good deal, but fail to deliver. I have yet to meet any serious enthusiast who has used ANY Bose components in their setup. If you are looking for home audio, might I suggest lower end Klipsch or Cerwin Vega for an entry level quality system?

I have had a pair of Bose speakers for for 15 years that are still great! Well worth the extra cost in the long run!

i just got triports after returning shure se 210's (the hearing loss is not worth $160.) People say there are better headphones than the triport but the triports are the most comfy also bose settled the breaking issue. I love my new triports. btw their speakers are indeed not very good, to politely put it, my denon system is way better.

I just bought the Triport IE earphones for my iPod. They are decent and have deep bass, but I was expecting more considering they cost $100!

Hey are your triports within their return period?

I don't think so anymore, I bought them just more than a month ago. Oh well...

Bose is too muddy on the low ends. it's really bassy so if you like hip hop or harder beats then you might enjoy bose. I recently had a pair of Shure E500s and while they are extremly pricey (500 bucks, yeah I know), they have the best sound I have ever heard. total block out of all sound and a perfect balance of lows, mids and highs, great design. the lower end shure models are still nicer than bose I believe.

check out www.head-fi.org

they'll be happy to tell you about bose!!!

DEFINITLY GO THERE BEFORE BUYING HEADPHONES!!!

Bose is incredibly overated for some reason.
Go with Shure if you've got the money.
If not go with Sennheiser (sp?)

Or try Grado, it seems the ultimate headphone according to people on head fi.

Actually, Bose's motto should be "better sound through marketing" - Bose spends more on marketing than ALL of the other speaker manufacturers combined.

And note how Bose only cites "reviews" from magazines like Popular Mechanics and not audiophile magazines such as Absolute Sound, What Hi-Fi, Hi-Fi, etc.

The Bose lifestyle systems have a whole range of mhz that is missing and Bose hasn't made a good sounding speaker since the early 1980s.

As for noise-cancelling headphones, Bose actually makes a pretty good pair - but is WAY overpriced for what they are.

Sennheiser makes a pair that is 90-95% as good for a fraction of the price (px250).
