Your Title?

Hi

Just a quick question on how you are organizing your common app essay

How are you heading it?

Do you have your first and last name in the top, then below it "Common Application Essay"?

Do you include a centered title?

Do you include in the heading on the far right a "(last name) (Page #)"?

Is your essay single spaced or double spaced?

I have my essay pretty wrapped up, just not really sure about how it should be organized

Thanks!!

Yea, I "chose my own topic," so I would like to know if I need a title or not, as well.

I'd like to know too.

Well, when you upload the essay, it makes it part of the application. So when you upload it, it puts your application number on the bottom as well as a page number. Other than that, it appears as it appears in word. I don't think a title is needed, but I can't see an applications officer would reject you because you did or didn't title your essay.

Oh

I was under the impression that it would be printed out and read (hence why I would put the page number)... I guess it is kind of silly for me to think that... that would mean literally tens of thousands of physical pages instead of data on a computer lol.

Should we include our name at the top though?

The majority of schools still print everything out, but I'd assume your name and page number would already be included.

Do we double space essays?

Double spacing is also one of my questions... my top college asks for the essay to be 1 - 2 pages... mine is now about 700 words, but fits onto about a half of page 3 being double spaced. If it were single spaced, it would be just over 1 page, therefore meeting the 2 page requirement.

Is this advised?
