1) Fordham, George Washington, NYU, Temple Honors
2) George Washington
3) Loved GW, but couldnt stay cause it was too expensive, ended up going back to my old school, PSU
4) had AMAZING friends, half transfers, half not
5) I regret coming back, and am probably going to transfer again

I transferred in January, it was such a great life experience, good luck!

Was slow to meet new people (had several friends who transferred with my from my CC). I was also tied to a crappy friend at home and was held back by that. Also was dealing with unemployment and homesickness and being significantly younger than everyone else in my year, and therefore unable to go to most places. Made lots and lots of acquaintences, though.

So far have made 4 friends in 2 days with further plans to hang out this week, and school hasn't started yet. So I'm optimistic about this year. Dropping the bad friend was key. So was getting the internship and a fake id.

Nope. As far as I was concerned UCLA was the only option. It's worked out well.

That's because I had absolutely no desire to live in Berkely, and I think that's a big part of deciding where you go to school.

Besides, UCLA's program for my major is superior to Berkeley's, so applying would have been stupid seeing that I had no desire to go there and no incentive.

Except you always seem to forget that some of us don't base our decisions entirely on prestige.

And as I said, the academics for my program are better at UCLA. It's reputation is better than Berkeley's, too, so there's your prestige.

Honestly yo it hasn't held me back any. I can succeed with a degree from UCLA just as well as I could've with a degree from Berkeley or USC. The differences are negligible.

This doesn't even account for the fact that it would've been completely stupid for me to go to Berkeley since I work in advertising. To get a decent internship I would have NEEDED to be in NY or LA. USC wasn't really for me and I love UCLA so the decision was extremely easy.

Dude, let's talk when you start taking CLASSES at a university, k?

Just because I think rankings and people's obsessions with them are retarded doesn't mean that I don't know what things are ranked or that I'm uninformed.

Please. I've been researching colleges since 2001. I'm well enough informed and seeing as though I have experience in university, I think I'm pretty aware of their reality.

I have a job with a TITLE in the industry I hope to get into and the promise of promotion upon graduation. I don't think my going to UCLA over Berkeley has held me back thus far and I certainly don't think it will in the future.

There is a world beyond the pages of the US News and World Report. I sincerely hope you experience it someday.

im not biased.
I'm just more well-informed and aware of reality about colleges.

no you are not

oh and let's quit the trolling...this thread isn't about your OPINION on which UC is better. If you want to engage in Berkeley sackriding there's a forum for that.

I just had to add that. On a side note, i'd love to hear more transfer experiences. It makes me feel fuzzy inside..."some day that will be me...."....only for a couple of seconds though.

BUT THE WHOLE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND McKINSEY!

You do realize that you're the only one who obsesses about this, right? And that just because Berkeley is better for your program, that UCLA is still a pretty valid school and that, in some departments, it might actually be wiser to choose LA? Because if not I'd say you were pretty biased.
