when you mean well known private, are you referring to the likes of Andover, Exeter, etc.

The reason why i ask is that kids at these schools tend to do very well with college admissions (i should say well is an understatement!!)

As far as chances, you have some great numbers

I'd say

Stanford is the only reach (it's a reach for everyone)

Penn/Duke are upper matches/low reaches

Wellesley/Tufts/UVA oos match

Emory - lower match

GW/UMich - IN at both, probably merit money at GW

the reason why I hesitate to say any school of such high caliber is a match is that these schools are so selective and it can be a lottery drawing. People that have perfect scores (2250+ SAT) and grades are routinely denied at top 15 schools.

Brutally honest? You're not going to college at all with that kind of Bio SATII. Haha, nah, you don't have to worry very much. Stanford and Duke are both reaches, and Penn probably is a low reach too, but for everywhere else you're looking good. Tufts is a nice match, as is UMichigan. Emory and GW and low matches, maybe even safeties. As for Wellesley, most likely a match to low match.

I would say that based on your scores and grades you have decent chances at all of the colleges you are trying to apply to. Stanford is going to be more of a reach, of course, but I think that you have pretty good chances at both Duke and Penn (low reach to match). At Emory/G.Wash/UMich, you'll probably get in and have some scholarship money to boot.

Nice stats mate. Only, bio is in the 600's. Dear me, when did I become qualified to chance anyone? Never, but I nevertheless feel you're going to have a broad smile on your face come next April.

I don't think Stanford is happening just because it's a HUGE reach for anyone.

That said, you'll walk into Wellesley and probably Tufts (although some of this is going to depend on your essay and the rest of your application)

I think you'll get Duke and UVA. UPenn, even though it's CAS may be harder to crack.

The bottom line: Your scores are great. But where are your APs? And is that your UW GPA? And your ECs are OK, but they're not great. You'll get into some great schools, but I don't see you getting into the reachiest ones on your list.

Enticing stats. Play up those writing achievements in your application and/or essays and allow your counselor to further emphasize them in his/her recs.

Stanford-reach
Wellesley-??
U. Penn (CAS)-low reach
Duke-high match to low reach
Tufts-match (not high enough to worry about "tufts syndrome")
UVA (oos) -match
Emory-match
George Washington U.-safety
UMich (oos)-match/safety

Stanford - reach (everyone, but you have an amazing shot)
Wellesley - high match
UPenn - low reach
Duke - high match
Tufts - match
UMich - match
