Your UC Application, Immediate Response Requested

hey everyone, I just receieved an email from uc saying this:

Dear Chelsea,

We have received your University of California Undergraduate Application for Admission and Scholarships. Thank you for your interest in our campus.

We are in the process of reviewing your application. Before we can complete our review and reach an admission decision, we need the following information from you:

What high school did you attend before Hamilton?

We must receive this information within five days of this message date, or processing of your application may be delayed or canceled.

To respond to this message please use our online response form by clicking the following link: XXXXXXXX

so my question is do I just simply click on the link and type the answer? or Do you recommend that I put my application Id in there as well ? thanks guys

If they’re sending you to a direct link, they will probably have your application ID from the personalized link they’ve sent you. I wouldn’t worry about it, but I suppose it couldn’t hurt.

Make sure the email address is from a trusted UC source. It’s pretty late to get that kind of email. Use an online response form? Could be spam. I would call the UC admissions phone number on your application website to make sure its legit.

@Lookin4ward

I just got one of those the other day. It’s not too late to be getting them. This is when they send them out for transfers. Freshmen get them earlier.

thanks a lot for your replies guys. and this is no way an indication that I might have a better chance of getting admitted right? loll

@ Chelz- Nope, just a way of reviewing your application. Best of luck to you though! :)

@ kingdomsroa thanks. I was thinking the fact that they bothered asking me a question like that would give me more hope since maybe they wouldn’t bother asking people they already disqualified or something haha.

I went to two different high schools, but I only listed one on my app. How come they haven’t sent me an email asking for my other high school? Is that bad?

@uchappytrain

Random audits.

Well, the email has OP’s name–so its very unlikely its a spam/phising email.

Haha…tell that to the 100’s of millions duped into Africa scams.

I received and responded to one of these emails last week, but I find it strange that I received another from the from the same email address saying “Thank you.” even though I had received an automated response from a different sender saying my response has been received the day I sent my reply. Anybody else get this too?

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using CC

Sorry to bump up the post but I just received the same email. Is it kinda late?
I assume it is a legit email as it is sent by admissions-review@ucop.edu and have my ID on it.
And should I upload some proof to them?

I got this email asking for transcripts. I responded to it

Well, they do have OP’s name. Most fraudulent emails don’t even know the persons name.

Oh!! And I called ucla because it said I had 5 days and I wanted to make sure it’d be ok if it was late cos it was over a holiday weekend…anyways he wasnt like…what email?? Lol so it must be real

At this stage do I need to show them proof like HS transcripts or whatever? Or just answer them?

@Lfc

Reply to it immediately, and just answer whatever they asked you. If they asked for transcripts, give them transcripts. If they just asked you what school you went to, tell them. They’re usually very specific as to what they want.

Thank you for your answer asphyxiac. I submitted right away. My question was the same with #1 and it asked the school before one of my high school I attended. I was just worried that they needed the proof also as I was afraid of losing it already. lol anyway thanks for your advice.

Yeah just tell them the school in the box. hopefully it’s a good sign? the fact that they bothered to ask such a needless question imo lol. whatever… trying to keep my hopes up!
