your USC status/stats

What I've heard: Accepted into Fine arts studio art program.. send fin aid forms and didn't apply for scholarship which is something I really regret because i'm poor... they also told me to send final transcript.. has everybody heard this?

GPA: 3.7-3.8 UW (all AP classes this year)
SAT: 1950 (660 650 640)
SATII: 650 US hist, 640 Math IC
EC: national honor society, national french honor society, piano competitions, lots of church activities (cambodia/ vietnam mission trips, babysitter, piano player), school calendar graphic designer, web graphic novel that was published in an amateur work, school literary magazine graphic designer, summer english/photoshop tutor, portfolio etc..

special factors: parents out of country, lives with friend's parents. Father gave up good money paying job to be a pastor (this might have explained why i'm so poor part) also speaks fluent korean and english and knows VERY limited japanese.. (i don't know about this part though)

I still havent received any notification about my MDY Reports or any notification about scholarships (Applied Dec. 10th). So i called the Admissions office and asked about it, I asked if it was good or bad that i hadnt been asked for MDY Report, she said it was good. Anyone else in the same situation or can shed light on my problem?

I heard the only people they ask for MDY's are people they are iffy about.. (on the borderline of getting in) so they want MDYs to finally make their decision. I don't know about scholarships because i didn't sign up for it (didn't know about it, actually. I didn't think about applying to USC until much later.. around november-december ish...)

When you all calculate your GPA, are you including all classes, or just core classes and foreign language? I ask cause the USC freshman profile stats said that the GPA was "4.0 scale, unadjusted". I didn't know if unadjusted meant unweighted or not recalculated.

I just called admissions today and the guy seemed grim when talking to me...wonder what that means?

"I just called admissions today and the guy seemed grim when talking to me...wonder what that means?"

that he's had a lot of calls and he's really tired and wants to go home. Dont worry!

Havent heard anything yet

UW GPA 3.4
W GPA 3.6
SAT I 1800
SATII Us hist 620 Spanish 520
4 years Foreign Language
3 APs
200 service hrs in 4 yrs
lots of EC
worked 2 jobs for a while
interviewed at SC......
cmon baby, what do ya think?

I literally have the same exact stats as you and i havent heard either. I talked to the grim guy also, did u know they monitor how many times you call.

Yep I still haven't heard anything either.

2160 SAT
4.0 UW GPA
770 and 710 SAT II
editor of sports section of paper, math club pres, multicultural club, nhs, tutor homeless kids, cisco ccna classes, worked full time 2 summers for the army, also had the interview in NYC for USC

I thought I had a good shot, but I'm starting to lose hope. I applied really early (end of October).

dodgerblue, you have good stats, you have a really good chance of getting in. What program did you apply for? You really don't have to worry.

still havent heard anything. 2120 SAT, 9th in a class of 426, lots of AP's and college classes, strong EC's (theatre, film, varsity crew, figure skating)...

augh.

What are you all including in your GPA, all classes or just core, cause I noticed the USC form asks for electives/fine arts etc. Anyone?

i'm including all my classes, unweighted. But my GPA wouldn't change regardless of what I considered, so...

I applied to Marshall.

I've had straight As in all classes. We have the 0-100 scale, in which I have a 95 UW.

I really hope I get in USC. I'd really like to go, but money will definitely be an issue if I get in. My EFC is way higher than the cost of tuition, but I doubt I would go there if I had to pay full freight with no scholarships.
