<p>Her data isn't really a secret. She and I have 5, yup, count 'em, 5 classes together, and whenever we have free time, she discusses college admissions, which was the main reason for my initial post. I guess I'd be a tad bit shocked if she got into all of the Ivies, but I only applied to one of the same schools as her (the required, parental choice), so it really makes no difference I suppose.
Any who, summing up all of the posts: keep my mouth shut and possibly suggest that she find a safety school if she hasn't already. Cool, thanks. I'll keep you posted because I'm sure she'll let us know if she gets in.</p>

I'm sorry, but I haven't logged in for a week (too busy thinking about what college to go to), and when I logged in, I had seven or eight P.M.s just to ask me to update this thread!
Alright, so now announcing the results:
The girl I mentioned was rejected at every Ivy except Cornell. She was waitlisted at Georgetown (as a few other people I know were) and is now considering attending a pretty good school that an administrator of ours suggested as a safety. They offer significant financial aid, however, and Cornell apparently doesn't, so she has said her choice is pretty clear. I'm glad that she has a back-up school that fits her now, but she still insists on complaining that the people who got accepted into the Ivies got in because of affirmative action or something similar (at this point, I sort of treat her like the crazy old uncle in the corner who yacks quite a bit). I think she is pretty happy though; she did get into one Ivy.</p>
