any ideas?

sulk for 24 hours then get back to plugging away.
Anyone know if I could re-take an SAT II in January and still have it count?

i think we should focus on the fact we're all still perfectly decent people and talk about something other than college, for a change. take our minds off of it.

i didn't care...my mom told me to apply and so i did...LOL

when do you think is the deadline for that "additional information" you can send for final review?

Chill out, finish my other apps, and hope 4 tha best...nothing else you can do. I'm not really worried though because I'm a recruit and the coach said he's only able to have pull during RD so ill have a way better chance in RD

does anyone know whether taking the january sat would be too late? Would they consider it?

Great. I have no backup schools.

I also never had an interveiw...are we allowed one for the RD pool if we didnt have one for ED????????

I love the letter they sent us LOL
it tried to say how 4100 other kids didnt make it too and we shouldnt feel so bad!

kinda dont care now...even though it was top pick...lmfao

remember there is still a chance you can get in in the spring. Send a letter of intent if it's still your first choice in a couple months, adding what you've been doing since the fall, any new scores, new awards, activities, etc. My freshman/sophomore yr roommate was deferred EA then got in RD to SFS. And now you can focus on all the other dozens of awesome schools there are in the country. Maybe you'll find one that's an even better fit than Gtown, who knows. It might suck now, but in April and after you'll find out you're going to a great school, possibly Gtown. Good luck!

i should probably do that.. send them a letter but there is no way im gonna find a place better than gtown

JasonHoya: any idea when you have to turn them in for consideration?

I slit my wrists and cry myself to sleep.

Okay, maybe not that. Actually right now I'm somberly working on other apps and homework, waiting for the next joy that will come my way. Shouldn't be too far off given the season. I'm holding a small Christmas party a week from today, that'll raise the spirits.

i'd think you can send a letter of intent any time after the RD deadline, with February being the latest. if you have any new details between now and the RD deadline definitely don't wait to send that in.

In the letter be sure to explain why exactly Gtown is your top choice still (emphasize that it is), what specifically you are interested in, and the new info you have. The important thing is to show that Gtown isn't just one school among the many you're applying to, but that it is the best fit for you, and the program you're interested matches what you have demonstrated to be interested in.

thanks for your help! do you know if we can still take SATs in January and still have them count for RD?

That's my question. I need to retake the SAT for sure. Anyways, I am super ****ed off. I don't really want to go to any of the other schools I applied to.

Did anyone actually read the letter? I saw that it was one sheet, then I saw the word Sorry. I then crumbled it up and left the house...

ya this really sucks. it was definitly my number one school and it just hurts that i'm not good enough, but whatever its done for now. just annoyed at people that are posting saying they got accepted but it was just a back up school or saying they applied ed elsewhere even tho u cant.
i dont know what else i can send. im not retaking tests and i dont have any awards im gonna win. so basically nothing is gonna change. idk. if i wasn't good enough now, how am i gonna be good enough for rd
but ya i read the letter brendano and it just tried to make you feel better saying how only 18% got in and then it tried again to make you feel better saying that 10% get in for rd that were deferred. thats not a good percent at all haha

anybody know if the january SAT IIs would be considered?

not sure about the latest for sat scores. definitely call the admissions office on monday about that.

^Yes, I checked with them, January is the latest that they accept
