Now, when I visited Cornell I knew the people there were nice, just from the few people I was able to talk to in the dairy store and on the streets. However, talking to all you people on this chat/thread posting thingy (what is this called? a "forum?"), I have realized that Cornellians are just amazing people! I have read other schools' threads and visited other campuses, and they drive me nuts!! People seem to be soooo negative compared to the Cornell campus and CC "forums" (I hope that's the right term because that's what I'm gonna be referring to CC as from now on). As a high school junior, I really am amazed at the kindness shown by Cornellians, and I am really really super duper hopeful that I can get in next year, because you guys rock!!!!! :) :) At this point it's not even about academics, but my main reason for wanting to got to Cornell is the student body and the way they (and you all reading this) respond to the needs of others (like me)... So I wanted to take the opportunity granted by this "forum" and thank you all personally :) :)

not a cornellian personally, but father was there for a short period of time before transferring(gahhhh, what was he thinking?). Nice of you to extend such sincere gratitude though.

I agree. Cornell has a reputation for being really cutthroat and competitive and actually, I found it to be a very warm and friendly school when I visited and the Cornell CC forum is definitely my favorite. Other college forums exhume a negative and hostile whereas Cornell is so much nicer and supportive. Sure, there are going to be one or two or a few weird ones here and at Cornell, but that's something you expect from all colleges, especially at Cornell since its undergraduate size is 3-4 times bigger than the average college's. Good luck in your junior year and I hope you do get into Cornell next year!

yea, take "curtisny" for example. LOL

I am looking forward to meeting with all the nice Cornellians!!!

Hear hear!! I just joined as a member on CC but I've been lurking around the forum long enough to get an idea of most of the Cornell CCers. What can I say?

"It'll be one step closer to heaven meeting y'all in one of the world's most beautiful campuses next year."

Good luck to us all!

hah i have been waiting to say this "Join the club!!". :)

See what I mean? You guys all rock! I mean, I just get so antsy thinking about applying, and I really get scared when I think that I may not get in, because then I think "Oh God, now I have to go to a school where people are all like 'arrgh,' and that thought kinda scares me... But yeah.......... I just wanna go to Cornell so bad!!!!!! hahaha, I love Cornell :)

hey lets drop this stuff with curtis...lets live up to our rep and put it behind us...

Imagine being at cornell next year, with your roommate for a week, who is a really really chill kid, and then he sees you on CC and goes "oh I used that site! whats ur handle?" and you go "seth blue" long awkward silence ensues...long awkward year ensues, haha. but yea, flames are mad fun; I just think its best if we make up at the end, considering we've never met each other.

sorry, didn't get that, can you make it a bit clearer please....

wow i left out the most important part...fairly absent minded of me

Your in your room with your supercool roomie of 3 weeks @ cornell next fall. He sees you log onto CC and says "hey i used to use that, whats ur handle on there?" and you go "seth blue, how bout you?"
"curtisny, I think you're the jerk who said such and such about me"
haha, that would be kind of funny, actually.

yea, funny, awkward more like it....

Thanks, blackferrari2006, that was really sweet. We'd be lucky to have someone like you join us in 2 years! :)

I was on here the day after I got my ED acceptance and I have to admit that the camaraderie has grown to be quite amazing. I certainly hope to meet you all face to face in a few months!

yeah i know, we all stick up for each other when ppl flame us haha

hahaha, see, I'm glad this thread was started... It's brought us even closer together! sniff sniff I have a question for all of you... Say I do get into Cornell... or even just you guys next year... would you really make an effort to meet eachother? I mean, I don't know about the rest of you, but CornellHotelie mentioned it, and I think it would be really cool to meet you all... We could have like a CC gathering at like a hockey game or something. Even if you guys plan to do that next year, could I come? I only live about 45min-an hour form Ithaca and would certainly not mind the drive to go see a game and to meet you guys.
Let me know if this is just ludicrous or if you would really be willing to do something like that, please. I mean, it doesn't have to be a hockey game, but since that's a popular thing to do I figured it was a good option. Could you guys let me know?

Haha...yeah I'm going to show up too...even if I don't end up going to Corny!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

blackferrari-- meeting at a hockey game sounds like a good idea. Everyone will be so hyper about it (I hear the Cornell spirit surges to unbelievable heights during these games) and it'll be even funner to meet then! You're free to join us... haha wait... who am I to talk? I need to get in first!! And if it's us against Princeton, we ought to throw fish onto the rink for tradition's sake!

and yell to the Princeton kids, "Safety School!!!" Just because that would be funny :p

wait wait... like we're calling them the safety or proudly identifying ourselves as the safety? :p kidding, kidding. Pls no one whack me... Cornell's no one's fool!

they're obviously the safety :) Cornell is wayyyy better :p
