I'm just starting to look into diff schools. I wondered what everyone scored? Please give me a break down? I'm just finishing my 10 th grade year. Total was 2130 first time.cr 660,m670,w800. I think my whole package is a good one. I'm involved in everything. GPA 4.20

Im sorry to say, but those math and verbal scores are quite low for Dartmouth. But, as you are only a 10th grader, you've got plenty of time to try to bring them up :) You want to be above 700 at least on every section.

No one gives a crap about SATs anymore, Can you write? I would suggest you start thinking about great topics for your College essay...

I know several people, several, who had HIGH SAT scores and her not at their dream schools and you know why? Because they didn't get accepted. You're still in 10th grade...relax.

Do well on your APs if possible so you can get rid of some required classes.

cr740 / w770 / m790 / total2300

I'm sure you know this already, but you're in great shape :-)

Hey! Pretty awesome for a first timer! My best combo was 2200 (M:780,W:680,V:740) and I got in. Just for safety, get those 600s up in the 700s and with a good essay/recommendations and I think you'll have a decent shot! ^_^

M 800 V 760 W 760

I only took the new ones once.

Schools are not looking at the SATs that much anymore as long as you have good extracurriculars and recommendations its all good. To ask us though about how they will look at the new SAT scores isnt a good way to gauge it because we were the first year that they preformed the test so the schools really didnt pay much attention-I remember asking every school questions on that
so no worries youre in awesome shape:)

But my scores were hundreds of points lower in the tenth grade. Somewhere in that year, scores tend to magically jump up. What you've got is quite high for a tenth-grader.

I think mine were low for Dartmouth.
CR 800
M 720
W 670 (with a 7 essay)
Total 2190

I got in and I didn't even take the new one... I did well on the old one math 800 verbal 770... but I got the impression that the ability to write was much more importaint than score... I say this and didn't take the writing test... but AP exams almost always have some writing on them and I felt that was a big deal..

Thanks to all who have replied. I will take them again MAY O7. I do love to write, so I've already been thinking of my essay. Thanks for that advise.

Old SAT: V800 M780 (II Writing: 790)

Go for above 700 in each section.

As the adage goes: "A high SAT doesn't get you in, but a low SAT may keep you out."
