Youth Apprenticeship Program?

My school offers something called a Youth Apprenticeship Program that you do in junior and senior year. It takes 3 credits both years, which is a lot considering we have block scheduling. I really want to apply for the Youth Apprenticeship Health Science Program because I am hoping to go into the medical field in the future and I feel like this is a great opportunity, but at the same time I am worried about getting into college because I will not be able to take as many AP classes that I wanted to originally. Do you think I will be viewed as not taking “the hardest load that I can” if I do opt for the Youth Apprenticeship Program? The way I have it planned right now I would only be able to take 4 AP classes (and a lot of honors) and I am planning on possibly self-studying in some APs. Any input is much appreciated, thank you.

Where do you want to go to college? You need to get an idea first!

I am thinking somewhere like University of Wisconsin- Madison. I am not quite sure yet. We have to sign up for this program by the end of Sophomore year so it’s a little early to know that for sure.

You need to assess the academic rigor of the program, that sort of concurrent element here is more vocational, not really for those aimed at 4 yr college, YMMV.

I agree with Alfonsia. If it is more vocational, you will be better served by finding a medical-related internship or volunteer opportunity and taking more AP courses.
