Has anyone here ever heard of the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra (YPO) at NEC prep school conducted by Benjamin Zander? I'm playing on it next year, and just want to see how it will look on college activity list.

I don't know about that specific orchestra, but youth orchestra overall looks good on an EC list. It shows commitment and a fairly high level of ability on your instrument. Colleges will assume that because the orchestra is through NEC it will be of high quality.
