You've gotta be tough not to despair.

I mean, after:

reading the Yale daily news about a record number of SCEA applicants and the lower number of ppl who will be accepted because they can better predict yield

the guy who claims to have already been rejected (Though I’m really not believing this, I don’t think they would have told yet, and the thread doesn’t exist anymore)

looking back over Yale’s stats and reminding yourself of exactly how competitive and prestigious Yale is.

Life until the 15th will be tough.

life after could be even tougher.. knock on wood

I am SCARED! I just want the pain to be over though.

Ah~men!!!! =]

Rejection = End of the world ;)

I'm saving up my despair for the 15th. I think it's healthier to get it all out in one go. :)

yup. Looking at the Dartmouth, Cornell and Columbia forums is giving me the heebie-jeebies. :(

it's ok we'll all get in- hee hee i hope!, love love i love everyone!

i know what you mean, limetime =</p>

You guys will all be fine, at least CC'ers have a relatively high acceptance rate.... Anyways, from reading these boards, it seems to me that Yale SCEA'ers really really really *really * love Yale. Not that people applying early to other schools don't, it just that you guys take it over the top lol.

of course we love yale, we love each other too! yale is the type of community that allows people- no matter how insufficient your knowledgeis of them- to love one another and express it: yay love i love everyone!
Despite the fact that this probably isn't altruism but a superstitious idea of karma coming from most as they cross their fingers.

the question is how much of our love for yale got through in essays and such =\
gah i wish yale had early decision so that the harvard/princeton-wannabees wouldn't apply just for the hell of it. they guarantee to meet 100% of demonstrated need anyway, although i guess i can see why they'd want to give people options

Cogito i agree with what you posted soo much. I dont think ill be able to put that amount of effort in any other app.

Cogito described me lol. Except I didn't apply because stanford etc stopped their early programs, I just applied because it was non binding and early.

I haven't personally met anyone on this forum, but it just seems like everyone puts similar importance in going to a good college that I do, and it's really refreshing.
I'm betting that everyone knows what "Cogito Ergo Sum" means, knows about Descartes, deductive&inductive reasoning, etc. It's like I somehow know everyone already.

Anyway,
4 more days...

I'm not stressing over it. I feel bad for my friend who's decision on monday is basically life or death for him.

as someone mentioned earlier, i am having the hardest time working on my other applications and supplements. Yale is the only school i want to go to and when writing those other essays, i feel like i am lying. So... my solution was to use my Yale supplement essay as a skeleton for my others. The essays will be sincere (sounding). Let's hope none of us have to send out any other applications monday night. good luck everyone!

I mean, how can you honestly fill out a "why is ______ the place for you" question???

"Yale, the love of my life, rejected me and dashed my heart across the floor. ____ is one of 5 other colleges I'm scrambling to get into now"

^ Haha yeah :P

^^ I'd pay whoever could get into a college with that as a "Why _______" essay.
