you've heard it all before

<p>yay for another "let's see if the people on college confidential like my stats" post! so here it goes...</p>

<p>hispanic female from an extremely small all-girls catholic school that refuses to rank its students because there are only 70 of us in the graduating class. i've got a 4.65 cumulative gpa... by the end of this year i'll have taken 10 aps, but my scores so far are (5-art history, 4-euro, 4-chem, 4-calc bc, 4-calc ab, 3-us, 3-bio, 3-french language). my sat score is 2140 (M710/V710/W720), sat II math IIC 680, sat II us history 700. </p>

<p>awards-national hispanic scholar, uc eligibility in the local context, rensselaer medal winner, ap scholar with distinction, honor roll with distinction, 3 school science fair medals, society of women chemists award, president's award for academic excellence, random school-related awards in ap calc ab, ap calc bc, ap chem, and ap art history.</p>

<p>i'm captain of the tennis team (4 years varsity), played varsity soccer, spent two years on mock trial as an attorney, i'm in national honor society, i was vice president and treasurer of french honor society, i've played piano for 8 years, i was a sophomore representative on my school's academic council, and i spent two years as a participant in class plays.</p>

<p>community service-wise, i spent 60 hours as an intern at the l.a. county district attorney's office, and spent another 60 doing other short-term activities. this summer i attended notre dame's latino community leadership seminar.</p>

<p>and...my intended major is aeronautical engineering.</p>

<p>nicolee: what do you want? You know that you're a strong applicant. You also know that Stanford has crazy admissions. Apply. It won't hurt. The worst than can happen is a rejection, the best is an acceptance. If you actually like Stanford more than the name, go for it.</p>
