yup, another indian nerd dude who wants to be chanced

Gender: M
Race: Indian
Location: suburban NJ (HS ranked 4th statewide recently)
SAT: 2370 (800 M, 770 CR, 800 W), 1 sitting, not superscored

English Lang 5
-I guess I would be "AP Scholar with Distinction", I know it doesn't mean much

Senior Year APs
-Calc BC, Physics C, English Lit, Gov + politics, Econ

-ECs: 4 year wreslter, senior year varsity (this will not show on an ED app) JV sportsmanship award, no great awards/hooks

-summer jobs as lifegaurd (summer before sr year), 10 hrs/wk

What would be my chances at Williams, Amherst, and Swarthmore?

Great stats. Standard ECs – nothing really stands out as unique though. I think you have a really great shot at Williams, Amherst, and Swat. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were in at all three, but you should at least get into one of them unless you totally mess up your essays/application somehow. Good luck!

thanks + buuuuuuuuuump

Very good.

WOW. you are definitely in - all your scores are amazing.

Definitely in to at least one, probably all 3. Good job! And btw, help a fellow Indian male out?

greaaat chances! good luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/753061-im-begging-you-chance-me.html</a></p>

in, in, and in

u intimidate me

Good numbers will help.

Wrestling caught me by surprise and was a good addition to application.

I had similar numbers and got into Swath and Williams (didn’t apply to Amherst).

I would give you above average chances for all of the above.
Good luck!

Hey I wrestle too! I am in the 125th pound weight class lol

I think you would be a very good candidate for Swat, Amherst, and Williams. Good luck!

As good as you’d be, just being indian gives you the ORM disadvantage. I’m not being pejorative when I say this, it’s just a fact. And, nothing really stands out to me as I don’t think SAT II carries too much weight, but I’m sure you’ll get into at least one of the three.

buuuuuuump

With your stats you are definitely in, I think you could get academic scholarships too ;D

Wow, I’m like so jealous of your numbers there. If you don’t get in, that would be a shocker.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/748439-asian-subpar-stats-3-a.html</a></p>

thanks for taking the time to post + how much do my ECs suck? i know they’re not great

okay, you are not definitely in. those schools are extremely difficult to get into and no one is a shoe-in. that being said, i think you’re chances are better than most peoples because you have good numbers. your ECs are okay, nothing mind-blowing but if you write great (well amazing) essays, especially a good why swat essay, you have a good shot.

lets keep the chances coming in! thanks to all those who have responded

-I guess i should mention i’m a first generation immigrant but I know that doesn’t add much to the diversity factor

another buuuuuuuump

You might want to consider ED if you can pick a favorite. Your numbers are over the top but you run the risk of blending in with other highly qualified Indian students from NJ and the assumption might be that you’ll choose an Ivy over a LAC. If financial aid is a consideration both Amherst and Williams have calculators on their websites.
