Zoology/Animal Sciences UCSB vs. UCD?

I'm a Mexican-American aspiring veteranarian looking to do an undergrad major in Zoology, Animal Sciences or some related field and then hopefully go to Cornell for vet grad school.

I have a 3.58 GPA unweighted (sucks I know :/ ) and then 3.83 weighted (little better) and a 2100 SAT score with 5's on both AP tests I have taken (AP English Language and AP US History) and I am taking 4 AP classes currently my senior year.

With my stats and aspirations, I believe that UC Davis or UC Santa Barbara may be a good choice for an undergrad school (if I can get in)

But I'm just looking for further information/inisight about each school and then their programs in the field, or information on the major in general.

Any input related to the subject, major or chances is appreciated.

Muchas Gracias :)

UC Davis is hands down the better option. Animal handling and vet experience is key for vet admission, and UCD offers far more in that area than UCSB. UCD also offers more relevant courses and better advising.

That said, it is certainly possible to get into vet school coming from UCSB.

There is also a zoology program and America’s only teaching zoo at Moorpark College. You could go there first and then transfer to any University you want.

Wow, just noticed how old this thread is. Hope everything worked out.
