I am opening a thread devoted to the freak squirrels at UM. When I visited in October and saw my first one, I almost ****ed myself. They are HUGE and ORANGE!!?? I was almost attacked by one. It was so scary...

OMG hahahhaha I am so glad someone else noticed the squirrels! I went on a summer program at Mich and was always taken aback by how large and well-fed they looked! They don't even run away from people who approach them.

I think there's a website somewhere that talks about squirrels on college campuses...

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Campus Squirrel Listings

i think thats the website. they gave UMs squirrels a 4/5 lol.

i want to catch one and use it to guard my house from burglars and annoying neighbors

i am obsessed with squirrels! i am OBSESSED! they are adorable! ...to be fair i've never met a michigan squirrel

Like two weeks ago I saw a squirrel with an entire piece of pepperoni pizza in it's mouth on my porch. I thought it was some mutant rodent at first, but then I realized it was just a squirrel with a slice.

those freak of nature squirrels are big enough to eat an entire pizza. and consider yourself lucky that youve never crossed paths with an angry UM squirrel.....

The Campus Squirrel Listing is a load of BS. UM's squirrel's are in a league of their own. In a rating of 5, Michigan Squirrels deserve a full 6! Friends who visited me from other schools, including Cal and Cornell, were amazed at hour well read and well spoken Ann Arbor squirrels are, to say nothing of their impresive physical attributes.

A UM squirrel growled at me my first week of freshman year. True story.

There was a student group who had "Michigan Squirrels" tshirts made up (looked just like the "MICHIGAN BUSINESS" and "MICHIGAN ENGINEERING" type. Those were awesome.

I saw a black squirrel in Ann Arbor this fall. I know they're more common in other parts of Michigan, but that was my first in the city.

Half way through this semester, I almost tripped over one. It just looked at me like, that's right, walk around me you human...

lol they are beastly. and that website hasn't checked the michigan squirrels since the 70s! they need to update

For the new V-merse environment that they're creating (it's like a 3-D depiction of campus for prospective students) they specifically asked the designers to include squirrels on the Diag.

maybe we should put the michigan squirrel t-shirts on the squirrels...
