I applied to transfer to Rice as a rising sophomore. All of my college grades have been good and I currently have all As except for 1 C- on my midterm report. The C- is in an engineering class and is based on a test that is currently 70% of the grade and will almost certainly be dropped by the end of the course. How important is the midterm report? Is there anything I can do?????

Rice states they need a transcript showing courses in progress--does this mean a midterm report or do I not even have to send one? How else would I send a transcript of this type? Would it show up on my first semester transcript?

It would probably be best to contact Rice specifically to find out what transcript they need.

How much longer do you have to drop the class? All the way until the end of the semester?

How is the rest of your application? I wouldn’t worry significantly about one bad grade, but possibly you will have the opportunity to explain or that you will be dropping it (or already have).

No, I will likely get an A in the class. It was one bad test that the average was in the D range and the test will be dropped. I will not be dropping the class by any means and plan on getting an A.

You said that it (which I believed to be the class) will almost certainly be dropped by the end of the course… so I misunderstood :-).

Good luck :-)

No the test will most certainly be dropped
