1040A vs 1040

Well...when we filed DS's estimated FAFSA we THOUGHT he could do a 1040A and checked that box. Therefore, with his income, he did not have to report assets. Well...after talking with an accountant, it turns out he has to file a 1040 long form. I hope it's ok that when he amends the FAFSA he just puts the correct tax form document. It was an honest answer at the time...and of course when he puts the correct form down, he WILL list his assets (that will be required even though his GROSS income is less than $4500...because some of it was self employed income).

Anyone have any feedback about this for me? We are assuming that any self employed imcome is not reportable on a 10409A.

This is unchartered territory for him...and me!!
