11 kids got into to Stanford my from high school class of about 130. Not from California (or the northeast, either).

Where are you from then?

From the looks of this, maybe ~100 high schools are represented at Stanford. Neat!!

Yeah I remember 2 years ago Monta Vista didn't fare well at all, and it has quite a bunch of good applicants. Note - I am not from there. Anyway, interesting how it all goes...

there are 4 stanford scea admits at our school this year, and i thought that was a lot. lol. i go to a competitive public in CA :/

Though OP's claim seems a bit unbelieveable, it is my understanding that is years past if a student was qualified and had a parent who was a prof at Stanford they were almost guaranteed admittance. Of course, this was about 20+ years past. Most professors that have kids and live in the area would probably have their kids at Paly or Gunn high schools. Anyone know whether any of the OP kids had those kind of connections to Stanford? Is this possibly something cc'ers may have seen from other universities?

only one applicant did not hav legacy to stanford (as far as i am aware of)

Menlo School, Atherton, CA or Palo Alto High, Palo Alto, CA. Pwned. I WIN!

I'm from the bay area so I know the schools. Probably Menlo?!

I don't know about Menlo, but Gunn High in Palo Alto had 13+ get in early, Palo Alto High probably around 12 too. As far as I know, only one admitted person did not have legacy from Gunn, and that student is a piano genius.

Cousin legacy is as good as both parents, right?

...right...

...

I can only hope my school sends three people to Stanford.

This may have something to do with the fact that only three of us applied.
