There are two Cal Polys:

Cal Poly SLO: http://www.calpoly.edu/
Cal Poly Pomona: http://www.csupomona.edu/

ED = Early Decision. Increases your chance of getting in because it shows your commitment to a single university, but you have to apply earlier and are forced to enroll if you get in.
EA = Early Action. Lets you know your admission decision earlier, but you have to apply earlier. Less legally binding than ED.

ok so if i do ED to a school can i stil apply to other schools if i dont get my ED school??

and about the 2 cal poly's
im going into engineering (aerospace or electrical)
which one is better for this particular field?

thanks

Yes, you can still apply to other schools if you're rejected by your ED school. However, this may be too late for the California public universities since their deadlines arrive before the time you hear from the ED/EA schools. Cal Poly SLO is better for engineering.

If u dont likeee reall small towns(not really smaall but) that dont have loads to do at NO SLO FOR uu

The other posters are correct. There is a cal poly campus at both SLO and Pomona. SLO tends to be higher ranked. It is a smalltown atmosphere, but there is actually a lot to do. The downtown is really nice and the beach is 10 minutes away. It isn't san francisco, though.

For those that enjoy outdoor activities, there is tons to do in SLO. If you are more of a city person, the town may seem small (but it is really not that small) and is quite nice.
