Is there something specific you want to know about MIT that helpful posters haven't already shared with you? There are lots of helpful people here who are happy to share their experience, if you have specific questions. Repeating a general question about competitiveness, which has already been answered multiple times, probably won't give you much more useful input.

I am a soph at Penn, and I' doing this 4 m bro who is a member of the MI 2011 class.

If your brother (I assume that's what you were trying to write) is already committed to MIT as an entering freshman this fall, then it really doesn't matter how competitive or hard other people think it is. He will find out soon enough. MIT is very difficult for some students, not so much for others. My son has to work long hours for some of his courses while his best friend breezes through the same courses.

If your brother posts specific questions here I am confident posters would be willing to answer them.
