2 Instead of 3 Subject Tests. . .

Good news (?!) I went to Princeton on a visit today, and I found out that for the class of 2014, you only need to submit two, instead of three subject tests. Has anyone else heard this? I was really surprised when I heard it at the information session. The website still says three, though. . .

When I attended the information session a week ago, the presenter said they were considering dropping the requirement to two.

does this mean they only consider your 2 highest, or they’re still consider them all if you submit more than 2?

I think they will still consider the highest score from each test.

Yeahhhh but you should still take three. If you’re applying to Princeton, chances are you’re applying to either Harvard or Georgetown. You don’t want to limit your options!

I agree with you, eating food. I was just happy. Getting my third subject test score greater 750 has been hard, so I was happy to know that Princeton only required two. I still plan on applying to Harvard, but hopefully I’ll finally get that third score! :P

When I visited, I was also told that only two tests will be required, but that other tests will be taken into consideration as well if they are submitted.

my two SAT tests are 720 and 710, is that decent enough, or will that put a neg. spin on my application for princeton?? thnx.

It depends which tests those scores are in. A 710 on Math 2 will hurt your application, but a 710 on Literature is actually good.

Subject Tests are just another opportunity to set yourself apart. For admissions to Princeton, I think that should be your focus. Particularly with perhaps a 5% unhooked admissions rate. Applying with two stellar Subject Tests is just a forgone opportunity, IMO.
