Quick question about units.
I am currently enrolled in 20 units for fall semester, but I only intend to take 18 because I don’t want to pay extra. However, can I stay enrolled in 20 when the semester begins, sample the classes for a week, and then decide which to drop? Or will I have already had to pay the extra tuition by then?
My son’s advisor told him that if he added a minor he could apply for a waiver to cover the cost of the extra two units. You might ask your advisor about it.

Yes, you’ll be fine as long as you drop the class before the add-drop period ends, or at least that’s what my advisor told me. Also, what @Angeline13 is talking about is the Academic Achievement award. If you have more than one major/have a minor, and your GPA is above 3.75, you can apply for it and have funding for up to 21 units.
