Congratulations, I’d safely say you’re having a GREAT day!!!

Excellent news Steeler! Congratulations! Yay for the CC team!

Congratulations Steeler! Way to go!

Way to go steeler. Email? (runs back to sdn to see who’s sending emails).

Well…the goats are dancing tonight. D called and made me drive to the gate to check the mail and sure enough…UVa . Ya-hoo for the Wahoos!

What a great school. She would be honored to attend and feels quite fortunate to be accepted.

I called her from the gate and she was excited …then said she was going to celebrate by napping. She has a few hours downtime after today’s interview and before prepping for tomorrow’s. Edit: Whoever said this is a marathon, not a sprint had it right. ;)

Great news everyone!!! Steeler- congrats. What a good day for you. You must feel relieved to have one sure thing now.

And Cur- I remember how excited you said your DS was about Uva. That is wonderful she got accepted. I hope the goats don’t keep you awake tonight with all their partying though!

Congrats to all the people with acceptances! It’s very exciting (and a huge relief!).

Congrats to your D curm! When I move to Texas, may I stop by to see the dancing goats? :)

Curm: I’m sure that Jefferson would have been honored to have your daughter attend his stately school. Congrats!

I suspect there are more acceptances to come for our CC applicants! :)

Curm,
Let her bask in the glory for awhile-now that it is where and not if. Later, when the reality of sticker shock hits, those Texas acceptances(and she will get a few) will start to look better and better. To quote the emperor in Star Wars- 'All has gone as I have forseen it". This is great news.

This process is expensive and yeah…the $dragon will rear his head soon enough. My kid is a practical kid. It wasn’t 30 minutes before she said “I just wish it was more affordable.”

hg, she’s quite pleased to be a Texan . She has 6 Texas “possibles”, all of which are affordable (as that term is defined in med school-land). Plus she has a shot at 3 OOS schools with very generous scholarships of 1/2 and full-tuition for (all , most, or some) matriculants. But those “choices” haven’t materialized as of yet so she’ll “bask” in the UVa sunshine until they do. ;)

Bummer. One of those “choices” was just put on “hold status”. There blows a fickle wind…

(chants to himself) marathon- marathon- marathon

Congats on an acceptance at UVA, my best friend goes their and he has loved it.

DD only had 1 school with an early time line, it resulted in a waitlist. She did not feel great about the interview, one person spoke poor English so it was not unexpected, yet not an early admit relief that would be nice to have.

Wish the other interviews she has had were not waiting until March to notify her- she felt really good about the other two she has had thus far so is hopefully. We are thinking good thoughts for spring as the top 3 schools are all March admissions

Congrats to everyone who got in!

October 15th is definitely a nerve-wrecking time. I remember getting my first waitlist and a few hours later my first acceptance on that day.

Congrats on all of the acceptances and best of luck to those still waiting!

congrats to the mudgette…

mudge, as you may recall, UVA was also the first that S heard from…keeping everything i can crossed for good news from one of the schools in TX…has she had her interview at UTSW yet?

steeler…congrats…

where was the acceptance? PM me if you don’t want to post

eadad, yep. Last Friday and Saturday at UT-SW. She enjoyed it. Especially the student body. It has always been high on her list and if anything it moved up. Hope they show her the love on 11/15.

My D has noticed a distinct difference in feel at the med schools she’s visited, mostly from the student body. Not that one is better than another, just different. Anything I say now may tend to tick somebody off and also not do justice to what she actually told me but paraphrasing what she said about Southwestern “The kids aren’t as intellectual as they are at _______ and probably not as quite as cool as the kids at ________, but they may have the best combination of intellectual and socially adept kids I’ve seen so far.” For my kid, fit with her classmates - even in med school- will be a big driver (if there is a choice to be made). Or so it appears from my recent conversations.

Awesome news! Congratulations on all acceptances! Cheers!

I got in too!! yay! congrats everyone

Congrats BB! Bet that feels good.
