Congrats Kristin! I’m sure you will rock it!

On a related note, do you think it’s too late if I added Northwestern now? I kind of want to go because my best friend goes there, I forgot to add it when I submitted the majority of my primaries.

LOL lolly re: reincarnation–poor you, you might end up at Case :)

A quick glance at USNWR shows closer to 75% acceptance from interviews. Who knows if that’s accurate for this cycle/is evidence of Northwestern’s trends. My interview’s not for another month though, so I think once I get this next round of midterms out of the way I’ll start really preparing for the interviews. I’ve heard mixed reviews about Northwestern’s interview strategy, but then again I work best in small groups and have had lots of practice in them. Hopefully that will come in handy.

Miami, it was a 6am email and there was also a status update waiting for me with a link to schedule interviews. I have no idea which came first (don’t check those pages too often). Northwestern was the last secondary that I sent; I believe I’ve only been complete there for about 2 weeks.

Should have news from Mayo in the next week or so, according to the update email they recently sent. Fingers crossed!

A great news to report: DS got into one medical school! It is an IS one which he interviewed toward the end of September, but not one whose acceptance is usually announced on Nov. 15.

DS made sure to inform me personally this time. (He rarely did this.) I think he knows I care very much about getting into a school. When I looked up his flight schedule, I noticed he actually interviewed on Oct. 1 at this school. Quite a quick response.

hahaha, it’s OK curm. My dad (probably about your age?) still refers to meeting up with someone as “hooking up with them” which sounds so freakin awkward about 99% of the time he says it. I’ve learned to grin and bear it, but my friends sure think it’s funny!

mcat2, congrats to your S. I am sure more are coming.
And we are waiting for Nov. 15 also. Also, middle of Dec. This one is a very slight chance (according to D.). Then she is done waiting except for 2 that are under review. But at this point, I have mixed feelings about all unknowns.

About as odd as a friend of mine from just outside of London when she was in the US “Next time you’re by come knock me up.” She didn’t quite understand my laughter, but I think she later learned

Well, it is the end of a very hectic day here. I had a pretty good interview in the morning, received another interview invite in the afternoon (IS) and one of my “silent rejections” became silent no more. I have another interview tomorrow but I am already psyched for that one.

It is too early for me to hear from any possible acceptances, and I will have to admit that I am getting a little bit anxious here, especially when I hear all the good news from you guys!! I hope I am as fortunate as you! Congrats to all!! Great job!

MyOpinion, acceptances are coming your way, I have no doubt.
Different schools approach it differently. Not all schools were ready to hand out acceptances on Oct. 15. Some people here have acceptances to the same schools, the ones that you did not apply apparently. Do not be too anxious. Best wishes!

MyOp- last year when many people were hearing in Oct, and DD was not, it felt odd to not have any offers, but within a few weeks, that was a moot point. Just keep trudging through the process, it will happen for you, too, all in good time.

MyOp, Considering the number of invites you have received in such a short time period, I strongly believe you will have acceptances when the schools you applied to make their announcement. For many schools DS applied to, he is informed he will not hear anything till next spring like March. It is just by a pure luck (not by design) for him to apply to a couple of “early” schools.

And another thing, MyO–some poor saps weren’t quite as on the ball as you and are just now finding out about interview invites. So while you might not have an acceptance in hand YET, at least you’re ahead of the game in many aspects! Looking forward to hearing about your successes.

*and clearly, poor saps is a self-deprecating reference to myself and my friends, not your kiddos
