LOL! Let me guess! Lots of preening from the fortunate few plus tons of “Woe is me; the end is nigh” from everyone else?

actually, everyone is pretty supportive of everyone. and many waiting on phone calls, status changes, emails, snail mail. great to see so many people getting in. it’s been a good day for me too :)

p. 34 of the AMCAS instruction manual for 2011 applications says:

CA-- do not report misdemeanor marijuana offenses more than 2 years old
*OR–do not include expunged records

It appears that not only will your son need to contact all the school at which he has received an acceptance, but also any schools to which he has applied and has not yet received a rejection.

bigred—does this mean you had good news today? May we offer congratulations?

yep! the weekend was nice too. it was so hard to focus in school today. good thing i thought i did decently on my exam today.

Then a big Whoo-Hoo! Congrats on your acceptances!

Good for you, BigRed, while there may be many more to come, that first one is such a relief.

Bigred, Congrats! Before you started the application process, I thought I knew you would be successful in this journey.

Congrats brd, the first must be sweet, enjoy!

The two bolded parts seem contradictory - do you need to report a charge or only a conviction/guilty plea?

Congrats, bigred! Must feel as if a huge weight has been lifted.

My daughter also has received great news.

My daughter and I are in a hotel right now for an interview I drove her to, and I’m pretty sure we just woke up a few guests with our outburst. :)

Big congrats. Woohoo!!! to the newly minted med students!!

Congrats to all who got great news!

Congrats to you Big!

Received an acceptance yesterday from one of my top choices! Congrats to everyone else!

Many CONGRATS to the new med students! S didn’t hear anything so he called the one school he was really interested in. Turns out Md/Phd decisions aren’t sent out until the middle of Dec. Bummer. So he has to continue to take all interviews offered. At this point, beggars cant be choosers.

As a long time observer of this board & sometime poster, I’m happy to announce that yesterday afternoon I too, received an acceptance from one of my top choices! Congrats to everyone who has received good news-I am taking my gap year after graduating from Bucknell this past May-and I have to say with this acceptance I can finally exhale a bit…it’s been a long haul for me from the time I was diagnosed with leukemia half-way through my junior year of high school–and to finish that in four–then go on to Lewisburg and do my chemo thing for two more years–and then get the chance to finish college in four years-and graduate on time…it’s been a hard climb…-but I feel that as a survivor I will be able to take the challenge to the next level and make my way there, too. For everyone out there interviewing–and applying–and for those on this board who continue to support sons and daughters who are attempting to make it— hang in there–and keep plugging away—there are many people out there who will give you encouragement! Do not let those who would negate your dreams and yes–even your failures…stand in the way of what will be your destiny-keep after it and you will succeed!

Congrats to all of you with early acceptances! And to those reading and lurking, still awaiting news, try not to stress. Not all schools begin admissions on October 15th, you may not have interviewed in time to receive early notice.

Your time will come, but it is rough to read about so many of your peers getting in, even when you know, realistically, you could not have gotten in anywhere. Just relax, keep doing what you are doing and try to wait patiently.

Wow! Congratulations to all with acceptances!!
