but…BU CMB invite at the same time

received it today around 1 pm, @immuno2011! i’m not so sure about immuno invites, i applied to the CMB dept. it wouldn’t hurt to contact them again, in my opinion, the administrators/faculty at BU are all extremely helpful.

@biosci2011

I also applied to Harvard BPH and haven’t heard anything. I’m all antsy because I heard back from 2 within a couple days of each other, but my other two schools seem to be holding out. I’m sure they’re doing it to torture me specifically.

I guess it’s about time that I stopped lurking the site and actually post my stats as well:

Sorry if this has already been addressed somewhere but I didn’t see a response to you. I think your stats are fine. They’re basically just slightly lower than mine and I’ve gotten a few interviews now. A big part of the process is your rec letters though, both how positive they are and how well known the writers are. Personal statement is also a pretty big factor. Assuming your recs and statement are both good I wouldn’t expect you to have a problem getting some interviews. I’m not personally familiar with any of the schools you’ve applied to or where they are in their admissions processes, but I think in general there are many schools that are still reviewing apps so I wouldn’t panic yet.

In any case, don’t take it personally if some schools don’t offer you interviews, there is a fair amount of randomness to the process and based on your stats you are a qualified applicant.

Finally, if you’re an international that will also play into the process.

Just got an invite to UVA!

Hm…I guess it’s time for me to stop lurking also and post what I have so far.

my POI emailed me offering me a full fellowship to Indiana University’s BMS program! yay!

@turkeylurkey

Thanks for the reply! Do they tend to do these things in waves? Or if I haven’t heard, is that as good as a no?

I contacted Berkeley MCB and they told me they have already made their decisions for interveiws. Unfortunately, I was not selected. Others who are interested may want to contact.

@SuperPiePie That’s amazing, congratulations!

Does anybody know if international students get notified after everybody else? I applied to a good number of schools and have only heard back from 2. Anyone have any insight?

Congrats on the UCSD BMS and neuro, those are my top two choices and I haven’t heard from them yet. Would you guys mind posting your stats? I couldn’t find any published stats for UCSD grad admissions and I’m curious how I compare to people who have already been accepted.
