Rockefeller – does anyone know if all the acceptances have been given already??

@ahnundh

I applied to the School of Medicine Cell and Molecular Biology department

FYI to internationals: my friend who is international got an invite from Univ of Virginia Cell and Developmental Bio

I’m another person who applied to Harvard’s Biology in Public Health PhD, and I’m also getting antsy. I haven’t heard anything either. But I do know that HMS’s BBS program is just starting to go through applications, so if people are panicking about that, don’t (yet)!

I’m also getting antsy about BU (Arts and Sciences–Cell and Molecular, not the med school).

@Phamachem

Hey, I also got an interview invitation from the University of Colorado Denver, what grad program are you applying for?

Congrats!

Hey, Immunol. it is Pharmacology. What’s yours?

@DeisGrad: concerning Baylor, I think it depends on what you’re interested in. I’m not sure about their other programs, but the Translational Biology and Molecular Medicine Program has a lot of funding from HHMI. Plus, you have adviser pairs, both a clinical scientist and a basic scientist. And you get to do a clinical rotation. If you’re more into basic science, this obviously isn’t for you. But I got really excited by this program because I want to do translational work.

It is in Houston though. I’ve never been but am a bit worried about the humidity. Good luck and do what YOU want to do.

I’m freaking out because I haven’t gotten any emails about interviews yet! What does this mean? I only applied to 6 schools which I am regretting now.

Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.7 cum, 3.8 major/upper division
GRE: 730Q, 540 verbal, 4.5 writing

I applied to all good schools in CA: UCSF tetrad, UCSD , Berkeley MCB, etc…

Am I pretty much a lost cause? I’ve been going crazy over here!

@therunner123,

For Berkeley MCB, all the invitations were sent out, i guess. I called and asked them about my application and they said they cannot offer an interview for me. If you wanna learn smt regarding your application, you can call them.

@sherman174

Do you know about Stanford Biosciences? Are they finished reviewing?

Hey, just lurked the forum a bit and figure I’ll add to the discussion. I don’t know about Stanford, but I haven’t heard from them yet, so hopefully that’s a good sign…

So far, am interviewing at Baylor for TBMM program on Jan. 27-28, and USC PIBBS on Feb. 10-11 (their later date since the other option conflicts with Baylor). Anyone else going to these?

@grosse

I haven’t heard anything from Stanford Biochem. and it seems no one got a response from Biochem. check grad cafe survey.

Anyone heard back from UCSD Biological Sci? Or UPenn Biological Sci (this is not affiliated with the med school one)? Or Rice molecular bio?

@gradTomorrow I got an interview invite from UCSD BioSci last sunday via email. Not sure if they’re finished sending out invites or not though.

Does anyone know when UCSF Tetrad might start sending interviews or rejections?

@turkeylurkey, thanks for the info. I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

Not sure about Tetrad, though I’ve heard they haven’t sent out any yet, but should be soon since the interview weekends are Feb 3, 5 and some later Feb date.

Also, if you want to post your interview dates and/or see other schools, here’s the thread i started but I"m thinking is getting lost among the many on this topic:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/graduate-school/1066650-all-biological-biomedical-sciences-interview-dates-2011-a.html

According to grad cafe results from last year, Tetrad should make offers/rej. anytime from now to whenever.

Thanks for the information about Baylor! From what I’ve heard, that makes perfect sense.

As for UCSD Biological Sciences, I heard from them a few days ago. I have NOT heard from UPenn Biological Sciences…

Anyone heard from UCSD Biomedical Sciences? I know there were some early invites in Dec but nothing after…
