I’m joining in with the chorus of people who have yet to hear from many programs. I’m still waiting for a response from 8 schools! Trying to maintain a positive perspective, but it does seem rather late in the game.

Has anyone confirmed that Harvard BBS and/or Stanford Biosciences are done sending out invites?

Emailed to UCSD’s BMS program for a status update and was told that “a faculty member should be contacting you shortly for an invite.” Yay!!!

everyone, try searching the thread for school specific questions…harvard bbs is NOT DONE sending out acceptances, the guy i spoke to said that if you don’t get one in the next couple of weeks, THENNNNNN its safe to assume you’re not in.

interview at the university of miami’s rosenstiel school of marine and atmospheric sciences.

and i thought my GPA sucked! guess a pub, a very good gpa in my senior year, letters of recommendation and GRE scores helped!

can’t wait to lay in the sun

Did anyone here applied to UT Southwestern Medical center and heard back from them? Thanks in advance.

Received an invite to UCSD BMS via phone earlier this evening! So excited!!!

…only problem is the date (march 4-5) conflicts with Wash U, ahhhhh, I don’t think that I can choose between the two Both schools other dates are either full with no guarantees or I’ve already booked another interview which cannot be changed at this point. What to do!?

Hello,

I have applied to MIT (CSBi), and I have noticed that somebody has already received an interview invitation to this programme. Does anybody know whether this kills the chances of receiving an invitation later (before the 27th)? I am an international student and would have thought that all emails are sent to the invited applicants at once…?

@Imm2010

We’re the same!

And crap, UPenn Bio GSAS is already emailing?

many congrats on the ucsd bms interviews guys!

@flutopian, have you been contacted by them yet? i wonder if they are calling in waves…i hope i haven’t missed out, they are my top choice.

@tnnsplyr88

Nope, no contact as of yet, so I imagine it’s coming in waves. Apparently different faculty members have been calling different applicants. It probably just depends on whenever that faculty member gets around to it.

Also, is it true that the March interview date is the only one left for UCSD BMS? I’m already booked for Stanford that date… :(

@ flutopian

Have you received any info on travel arrangements from stanford biosciences? Thanks.

Is anybody here applying to Stanford Biophysics? It doesn’t seem like a popular program on this forum but I really like it. As January is flying by I’m getting nervous…

Hi all,

I am half international half PR (meaning i am waiting for my green card…) I applied to 10 schools for Biochemistry and got interview to Columbia integrated, Northwestern Ibis and Chapel Hill. For these three schools I heard from them more than two weeks ago. Still anxiously waiting to hear from Yale, UPenn, Cornell Weill AND Cornell biochem, Johns hopkins, Brown and Tufts…

Profile:

GPA 3.82
GRE V610 Q780 W4.0
Research experience: 3 projects, no paper, 3-7 years experience (depends on if they count high school)
abroad in Oxford for a year, doing biochem

I am a little nervous coz my primary recommendation didn’t get in until 12/23…does anyone know if that could significantly affect your chance for getting interview?
D
oes anyone know the chance of acceptance after interview? Also when do we hear back usually?

thanks

@bbqltw

I applied to Stanford biophysics too and have not heard anything. Where else did you apply?

Cornell bcmb for international today from Ithaca

got invites from harvard (not bbs) and princeton today! so pumped!

@abs1014: You can check my previous post with invite update. I haven’t heard anything else since then.

@applicantcsbi
I don’t think not having heard back yet means you won’t get in. Some schools, judging by postings here and on GradCafe, seem to dribble out their invitations over a period of several days. Good luck!

On another unrelated note, I just heard from Caltech Biology. Their interview dates are Feb 10-11 and Mar 3-4.

@bbqltw @abs1014
I also applied to stanford biophysics and did not hear anything. I think they send out interviews by snail mail so is checking my PO box 10 times a day…
