Let's get ready for AP Macroeconomics guys

omg im going to fail

My friend dropped out of macro but still wants to take the AP exam. She wants to know if watching ACDC Leadership to learn the material, along with taking practice exams, is enough to get a 5. Do you guys know? I’m not familiar with those videos.

Question from the '05 exam:

An increase in gov’t spending with no change in taxes leads to a
(a) lower income level
(b) lower price level
(c) smaller money supply
(d) higher interest rate
(e) higher bond price

The answer is d, but why? The only rationale I can come up with is that increased gov’t spending -> increased AD -> increased price level -> increased interest rates but I know there’s a better (or more correct) reason.

^ If the government increases spending without increasing taxes (aka their source of revenue), they will need to borrow the extra money. Demand for Loanable Funds increases, increasing the interest rate.

You should be able to just POE that anyway. There’s no feasible way any of those other ones could happen if they increase spending w/o increasing taxes.

If you are familiar with the Money market graph it will help. The money supply (vertical) is constant. The downward money demand increases. Interest rates are on the y axis ans quantity of money is on the x axis. The resulting equilibrium point has the same quantity but a higher interest rate.

Macro is in 2 days… I’m getting nervous!

could anyone send me any practice tests or pm them? macro is my second too last test, so close being done.

@pbojkner: i just pm’ed you a few tests, they are just the released collegeboard ones so if they aren’t helpful well sorry about that. If any1 else needs the 2000 or 2005 released macro exams i have them, just shoot me a pm

Does anybody have AP Micro & Macro 2010 Released exam? I can give you other SAT I or AP released exams :)

@cocksure: 2010 macro was released? i was not aware. if someone who has that wants to send me those too i can return the favour by sending the 2000 and 2005 exams… i probably have the 1995 exam also if you really need it

Im not sure fuzz1717

fuzz, you are a friend and a scholar.

@pbojkner: cheers
@cocksure: a quick google search nets me nothing. Not all exams are released publicly, only the occasional (every five or so) years. Although, the 1995, 2000, and 2005 exams were all released, so i suppose it would make sense for the 2010 exam to be released. If i find it, i’ll post it here

^ thank you, fuzz1717

This isn’t quite helpful, but you can see that the 2010 exams are released because they’re [available in the collegeboard store here](<a href=“Product listing”>Product listing).

do you guys think if i order it, i can get it by tomorrow?

^
No way…

This will be my last exam!

I’m pretty confident about this one. Everything’s fresh in my memory due to having the class this semester, unlike Gov. Plus Econ has come easier to me than Gov did, for whatever reason.
