2012 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

@Bunyabum just checked my application page and it looks the same…my application status still says “Submitted”. The professor who called me said they would send a formal email soon so maybe it’ll change after that?

Just got a Univ. of Wash MCB phone invite. Feeling good…

@greekbio When I emailed columbia I never got a response back about my app status (never got a tracking ID). But then I got an invite a few days later so I didn’t follow up. I would call if you’re worried.

Yes, UCSF and Berkeley have done two weekends in the past, and coordinated them. It’s strange to hear that, this year, you guys are apparently assigned to one of the two interview dates, instead of being asked to select the weekend you prefer (maybe the second weekend has just become too popular in comparison to the first because the second weekend is in line with Stanford’s single March interview weekend).

Anyways, I predict the two Bay Area interview weekends will be as follows:
Thu, Feb. 2 - Fri, Feb. 3 (UCSF TETRAD)
Sun, Feb. 5 - Mon, Feb. 6 (Berkeley MCB)

Thu, Feb. 23 - Fri, Feb. 24 (UCSF TETRAD)
Sun, Feb. 26 - Mon, Feb. 27 (Berkeley MCB)
Tue, Feb. 28 - Fri, Mar. 2 (Stanford Biosciences)

aaand got a Berkeley MCB invite.

!!!

Congrats billib!

Weill Cornell invite :)

Congrats guys! For anyone applying to UCI CMB programs and didn’t get an invite : I emailed the department and was told that first round of invitations went out yesterday and the second round will go out first week in January…there is still hope!! I thought UCI would’ve been one of my easier choices to be accepted to. Here’s to hoping my 3.75 masters gpa makes up for my low undergrad start haha

I apologize if I overlooked this information but could someone tell me when the interview dates for UW MCB is? Congrats to those who have received interviews and thanks in advance!

Univ of Washington MCB interview dates are

Jan 25-27
Feb 8-11

Also Berkeley MCB gave me an option for the interview weekends as opposed to assigning me one. Maybe it was just the guy who called me.

Interview at Albert Einstein!

Congrats everyone getting Berkeley invites! I’m an undergrad in Berkeley MCB and I love this place

And anyone hear from Weill Cornell Pharmacology yet? Wonder if they’re doing it by program or all at once…

Just received my Duke interview invite this morning! Anyone have any idea how interview invitations correlate to acceptances? Or how many invites are given compared to acceptances? Just wondering how excited I should be.

Good luck to everyone else!

@kryptonsa36 UCSF tetrad told me the for Feb 3 interview weekend, interviewees are expected to arrive Feb 2 and leave Feb 4, “unless UC Berkeley schedule their interview following us then applicants who are invited to their interview can stay behind for that.”

Just got a cal invite as well, same dates as above. Wut an

flutterfly: I applied to Cornell Pharm too, have’t heard anything back yet

Awesome Xmas!!**

Lots of activity here lately! Congrats to all the UCB invites!

Interview at WashU neuro!

Yes. Traditionally, if you do UCSF and Berkeley back-to-back, you get the entire Saturday (Feb. 4) off. UCSF’s interview activites end Friday night.
