2012 Official Biosciences Interviews and Results

@Oops I was invited to come to Yale Feb 2-5 for MCBD but it conflicts with the Feb 3 Tetrad interview. I’m going to ask if there’s another interview weekend at Yale.

sedefe:

I have the same problem, except my conflict is with Princeton - I remember the person saying on the phone that there were two dates - so there is hope for us - I just forget what the other one was…

Thanks for the update guys, and yes it sure would be nice if they would let you know just something haha. But I guess we shall wait and see!!

rockefeller notifies people in multiple rounds. I think last year they sent out 3. 1 in december, 1 in mid january, and 1 in early feb (although i think the december round was abnormal). Also keep in mind, they do not interview, they just send an acceptance packet.

@Oops They just emailed me back - second weekend at Yale is Feb 9-12th. See you then, hopefully? : )

@greekbio
I had a similar problem with them however I called them a month ago during one of my grad school panic attacks that I’m sure if you’re on this forum you know what I’m talking about. The guy I got in touch with was very nice however he could not find my GRE scores I had sent a while back. I called ETS to get a batch number and confirmed they had been sent my scores so I called back and he said that the woman who previously logged these scores had left and had left my and presumably others GRE score reports on her desk undone. Suffice to say we got it sorted but if I didn’t put in the leg work I don’t know if I would be left with an incomplete app. I say try calling them, I got a better response that way. The email is probably incredibly back logged.

Interview invite for Cornell Weill IMP! Crazy, did not expect it at all!

Quick question: Does anyone know anything about UCSD, UC Berkeley, UCSF (TETRAD) and Stanford and whether or not they have multiple rounds for interview invites, or is it a one time thing?

Thanks

i think each stanford home program sends invites out all at once.

does anyone know the specific dates of the berkeley mcb interview?

Rejected PhD Biochem - University of Michigan PIBS :(

Now I feel like I’m going to get rejected at all schools that I applied to…damn, UM was my top choice too.

@apoptosome: I think UCSF has at least two weekends, but I’m not sure if they actively give you a choice on which weekend you attend, unless you have a conflict or something. I received an email saying I was invited to interview on Feb. 24th. I saw somebody else on gradcafe who was invited to interview on Feb. 3rd.

@ rocafella

from berkeley’s website:
February 5-7, and February 26-28, 2012.

UCB, 2/5-7 and 2/26-28

For those worried about Berkeley: don’t lose hope. 1) They’re calling people for interviews, it could take a while, 2) your application page will be updated when an admissions decision has been made.

I have not yet received an interview invite, but my application page does not say rejected.

thanks guys! scheduling is getting tricky now…

@sedef: Yeah, I’ll see you that second weekend at Yale ^^ (at the cost of Johns Hopkins though, apparently…)

@rockefella: yes… see above haha

@people who weren’t notified in the first round of Scripps invites: check again today? I just got one so they must have multiple rounds

for the UCB-MCB invites…did your admission application page change in regard to being offered an interview?

@bunyabum: no, nothing changed. it says “submitted”

Just got my Berkeley MCB invite by phone!! I can’t believe it! :D
