since we’re talking about suits: [Suit Style: Latest Lapel Lessons for Men - WSJ.com](<a href=“Suit Style: Latest Lapel Lessons for Men - WSJ”>Suit Style: Latest Lapel Lessons for Men - WSJ)

So this has become the fashion thread?

What does one wear to Chicago in early October?
I’m thinking I can still do skirts(suit) and dresses that time of year, right? Not very familiar with that part of the country. Climate charts aren’t very helpful.

IWBB-- I read that when the WSJ first published it.

Plum–early October tends to warm-ish yet. Mid-high 60s maybe. Unless there’s storm front blowing through–something you won’t know until right before you get ready to go. Then you could get cold rain and snow. Be prepared for it to be very windy, esp near the lake and downtown where the buildings channel the wind. Consider taking a rain jacket or coat with you.

^agree with WOWMom, and I’ve been to Chicago in every season. I wouldn’t hesitate to wear a suit with a skirt (esp in a dark color like black, navy, or charcoal) in October but would be ready for unexpected cold weather as WOWMom suggested. Good luck!

Yay! D2 just got secondaries from 2 OOS publics that intensely screen all OOS applicants. (IOW, most OOS applicants don’t get secondary invitations.)

Both are schools she’d be delighted to attend.

Now just waiting on secondaries from 3 more schools…

Congrats to wowmom’s D2!

Great news, wowmom!

Congratulations!

Woot Woot!! Congrats WowMom!

Congrats to WOW’s D2!!!

Son’s GF took the MCAT today (much later than I would have recommended).

Refresh my memory…her primary is in, so will AMCAS wait til she gets her scores and then verify her app? Or will her app be verified during this time she waits for scores?

AMCAS will verify her primary without her MCAT, but it won’t be forwarded to schools until her MCAT score is added.

Plum is a girl? Always thought you were a dude

^^

lol…me too. I thought she was a boy, too. oops! sorry.

or maybe he’s talking kilts. ;)

I thought plum was a guy as well!

hmmm, when I first started using SDN, I noticed that several active users had written in their signatures or on their username banner “I’m a girl”. I suppose I know why now. :/

Hello All, new here. Our son is applying to medical schools this cycle. He didn’t get all materials into MCAS until July 10 and now fears that is far too late. Any sense on how long it could take for verification?

He has had secondary requests from a number of schools but we don’t read much into that.

D had her application in on 6/24 but her transcript was received after that so she was ‘ready for review’ on 6/29. She is still waiting to be verified. Maybe next week.

D2 submitted June 10; transcripts received June 12; verified July 11.

Verification can take up to 6 weeks. (OTOH, D1 submitted after Labor Day the year she applied and was verified in 3 days.)

TatinG, do you have any sense if it is considered really late to not be verified by late July/early August ? And if that is a serious liability for the application? Thanks!

According to SDN, AMCAS is verifying submissions from 6/27 right now.
