Interview Invite from the University of Iowa Biochemistry program on Jan. 24-26.

@princebear

Yes, it was sent at 8:08AM to be exact. Hopefully hear back by end of day?

Hey everyone,

Congratulations on your interview invites in the upcoming holiday season! I haven’t heard any rejections or offers from any schools thus far. I’m a little worried about Northwestern IBiS as a few have gotten interview invites thus far… but last year they were still inviting people through end of December and early January, so I guess not getting a rejection is good news so far?

Good luck to all who are still waiting, like me, to hear something!

ABBS at Tucson is interested! Oh, Hell, yes!

@Elocin

Just hang in there I’m sure your interviews are coming soon!

@Elocin

I’m in the same boat, no responses of any kind from my 11 schools. Bureaucracy can bog this down, we know that, so hang in there!

received an email from drexel micro&immuno program today…interview dates are Jan 15th, 17th, 22nd. Anyone have any insight on this school?

@princebear
On grad cafe everyone had listed cancer bio, I went back to look through my app to see what I had applied under and I didn’t see anything but the listing of cancer bio made me more hopeful.

Elocin: A lot of schools are going to send out interview offers in early Jan. so don’t panic and have a good holiday.

@superman75: I got an invite for Drexel today as well. Same program too. What day are you picking? I’m working on getting my wife off of work on the 16th so I can go for the 17th. I had a small tour there and met with some faculty back in August and it was a nice place. They all seemed to care a lot about how the students did and everyone was very nice. Facilities are nice as well.

I only see the “biomedical sciences” program for sloan-kettering. On our application I think we had to list the specialties we were interested in… I haven’t heard from UCSF tetrad, Sloan-kettering, UCLA ACCESS, or Berkeley MCB. I’m starting to get worried :(

@biotechstudent: I’m patiently waiting for Berkeley MCB as well… There is still time left in the day, so I’m trying to stay hopeful. Otherwise, they’ve sent out interviews in January in the past in addition to the December invites, so there’s also that possibility. Good luck!

@Errbie3 did you have your official transcripts sent already to JHU? I just realized recently that they wanted them so I’m hoping that’s why I haven’t gotten an invite from them yet.

sigh…almost 5pm on the east coast…guess no more GSK for today or this year…

I know some people have got some interview requests from Penn-CAMB. What department of CAMB? I applied to MVP. Anyone hear from them yet?

diamedic- I am going the 15th, it should be interesting. I’ve never been to Philly.

Albert Einstein interview today via e-mail. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting to hear back. I’m sure your offers will come soon.

Philly is pretty cool. My brother is a paramedic for the fire dept there. Lots to do.

When are the Einstein interviews? I applied and didn’t hear anything yet but I am trying to get my schedule straight just in case since I have a wife in grad school who works a full time job and I work full time for the fire dept and we have a 6 month old out schedules are kinda hard to sync.

I got an interview from Yale BBS Computational Biology and Bioinformatics a few days ago.

I’ve seen that a lot of people have heard from Princeton MCB and UCSF Tetrad. I’m applying to Princeton QCB (another branch of biology@princeton) and UCSF Bioinformatics. Does anyone know if departments at a single school send out their invitations together, or if they could be spaced apart? Does it mean anything if people are getting interviews from different/closely allied depts at the same school?

@diamedic17

Einstein sent me an e-mail, but the official admission status is also available as a link on their application website. The interview dates are January 17-18 and January 31 - February 1, with optional arrival on the evenings of the 16th and 30th, respectively. Good luck!
